| No doubt about it, UGA has benefited tremendously and the Vols have suffered commensurately ever since UGA reclaimed in-state recruiting by hiring Rodney Garner from Tennessee. Who else remembers in the 1990's when we would pretty much cherry pick Georgia? Now there are a lot of rumors flying around that Right and the UGA money people are going to make Trooper Taylor an offer after signing day. I guess we'll all know more about this soon enough. |

| yeah, that was a bad day....he was great. and i remember thinking when i heard he left, why in the heck didn't they try to best UGA?
Oh well....hopefully, if they really think that much of Taylor, they won't let the same thing happen.
One thing for sure though, Taylor will be more and more a highly sought after commodity....

| Not sure why they would wait until after signing day when it would benefit them to him before or during recruiting period. Unless there is a rule they can't touch coaches until after. Don't know that rule. |

I don't know if he is speaking personally or from a rules point of view. Supposedly Garner and Trooper are close friends and Garner really wants him at UGA. From what I hear the UGA boosters pay a significant part of Garner's salary. Do the UT boosters do that for any of our coaches? |

Just pointing out that if the rumors are true UGA is about to rook us out of another good recruiter. |

Yeah, we know Georgia's success has come because of Garner's recruiting and not because of Richt coaching. Come on, be real. Richt can flat out coach. Garner may have wanted to "move up the ladder" but how often do you hear about how great a position coach he is...it's all about his recruiting not his coaching. |

| UGA has dominated Georgia and the South because of Garner.
They have dominated the area because they have won 2 SEC Titles and have had Van Gorder, Martinez, and Richt on the sidelines.

| Didn't Fulmer already give him a bogus promotion and a raise to keep him from going to TX?
Are you saying he needs another raise?
Have we really done that well recruiting running backs with Trooper?
Somebody fill me in on who he has landed that illustrates what a great recruiter he is. Is it at another position? |

He is a player's coach and the players rally around him. His fire and passion helps attracts players. If you ever played football, then you know what i'm talking about. I preferred playing for an somewhat emotional coach as opposed to a hohum coach. Trooper is a big asset to Tennessee and furthermore he recruits other positions as well.
