That's for sure. Dixie Alley really is becoming the other Tornado Alley.

The climate models showed that to be a likely outcome. I think the severity of some of these tornadoes was a bit surprising, though.

My closet worked for me. However I also have a brick home so that helps. If u notice the homes in joplin are not brick

The hotter it is, the rockier it will be when that front moves through.

Yeah, the homes not being made of brick was a major factor. My home is made of brick as well. Of course, I'd rather have a concrete storm cellar, which I'm sure is something we'd all love to have.

Brick might as well be sawdust when a tornado that strong cruises down your street and cuts through the front yard.

Not necessarily. Very possible but not always the case

That's what I'm afraid of. I've been monitoring the Memphis NWS all day. Lots of concern for this area. As I write this, storms are firing up in northern Arkansas right now. These are probably the beginning of long track supercells....probably will rapidly intensify

I just can't get over how violent this tornado season has been. Stay safe and take precautions early, west Tenneseans. The last place you want to be caught is in your car.
