Crazy story out of Cali this morning!

Los Angeles (AFP) - An orthopedic surgeon in California who once appeared on a dating reality show and his girlfriend have been charged with drugging and sexually assaulting two women, in a case prosecutors suspect might involve hundreds of other victims.

Authorities told AFP on Tuesday they had received dozens of leads in the probe, just hours after a press conference held to try to encourage other women to come forward.

Thing that always gets me in these cases is that if there was just some random freak that decided to undertake some horrific behavior, I can write that off as an aberration driven by some deep, hidden darkness in someone's mind that crept to the surface and was acted upon. But there were two people who each decided together to do awful things. That required open, conscious thought and discussion. And that blows my mind.
