You said Clinton would set conservatism back 50 years, due to Clinton pushing a far left agenda, raising taxes, pushing national healthcare and being a morally bancrupt piece of trash Newt was able to set forth a conservative agenda and take the house back. So I would say Clinton was one of the main reasons conservatives took the house back.
