I knew you would try to go there. Beheading and crucifying a rapist of children is not cruel and unusual... the punishment fits the crime.

Besides, at the time of the Bill of Rights, firing squads and hangings were common place.

That is a far cry from beheading somebody and publicly displaying their crucified corpse.

I think child rapists are the scum of the earth and I don't mind cruel and unusual punishments for these dirt bags. However, I am looking at this from a constitutional stand point. Things like beheading and public crucifiction is exactly what the eighth amendment is there to protect against.

A lot of crimes are cruel and unusual. That doesn't change what the constitution says on the punishment for the perpetrators though.

If you rape a woman or child, or murder an innocent person I could careless how a society decides to rid their country of the offender.
