ROCKLIN, Calif. — Parents, students and administrators are defending a Rocklin school's decision to keep a "God Bless America" sign up despite a demand to remove it by a civil liberties group.
The school district posted the message on a marquee-type sign outside Rocklin's Breen Elementary School in the wake of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks. The American Civil Liberties Union argues the sign violates the constitutional requirement of separation between church and state.

the ACLU and others need to get a grip and actually read and comprehend the text of the 1st Amendment. They should also put Jefferson's letter to the Danbury Baptists in it's proper context. A local, public school putting "God Bless America" on it's outdoor sign is not a violation of the 1st Amendment, nor would be be a violation of the mythical "separation clause".

I am glad he said it.
The point of the OP, I beleive, is that if Bush would have said this in a broadcast to schools, it would be jumped on by the left.
