| I personally think she's just tired of the bull crap associated with politics. It's not for the presidential run, because her term as governor, as far as I understand, ended a full year before the 2012 elections. I honestly think she was tired of herself, her kids, and everything she stands for constantly being attacked and scrutinized (part of the territory, especially if you aren't lock and step with the media establishment). I really think she is just throwing in the towel. You have to be an extreme narcissist with either thick skin or completely out of step with reality (or both) to be in office, thus why for the most part we are screwed as a country.
Agree or Disagree with her, her story is what I think should be becoming the norm across the country. Everyday people tired of the crap and running to "throw the bums out." The Elites from both parties saw that, and she scared the crap out of them. I know people cite her lack of experience but we just saw Stewart Friggin Smalley win his way into the senate... |

With that said, she annoys me so much...I could hardly stand to listen to it. I try to be fair - but she presses so many buttons that it is extremely difficult. I find her annoying, condescending (in that she talks to me like I'm 6 so that apparently I'll believe everything she says, usually coupled with a wink), and not very thoughtful.
I used to think that she was just dumb...but I don't think that's it anymore...she just doesn't appear to like to be very contemplative or mull over things. It's not that she doesn't come up with good ideas sometimes - but I think that she hates thinking and loves doing. She doesn't even appear to be willing to take time behind the scenes to learn the things that she doesn't know well (such as during the campaign). It's like she's not willing to slow down long enough to learn very much.
It's just very contrary to my personality, and a trait that I respect in some people and am turned off by in others. It's more often than not a trait that I am turned off by, but some people do it so well and it is so contrary to my way of doing things that I tend to respect it a lot. However, I am very turned off by it with her, and I haven't been able to develop any respect for her.

This is a great post. Bush had the same trait, the way he spoke saying patently obvious things as though he was revealing some great intellectual thought. Very annoying. Posted via VolNation Mobile |

I have yet to see a single politician that didn't state the obvious over and over and over, Bush was no different than any other political figure including the schmuck now holding the highest office in the free world.

I think I'm a lot like you, in that I don't agree with Palin's policy views, but mostly, it's just her personality traits -- the exact opposite of mine. |

| Quote: Though Todd Palin told Fox News he built his Lake Lucille home with the help of a few “buddies,” according to Barrett’s report, public records revealed that SBS supplied the materials for the house. While serving as mayor of Wasilla, Sarah Palin blocked an initiative that would have required the public filing of building permits—thus momentarily preventing the revelation of such suspicious information. Just months before Palin left city hall to campaign for governor, she awarded a contract to SBS to help build the $13 million Wasilla Sports Complex. The most expensive building project in Wasilla history, the complex cost the city an addition $1.3 million in legal fees and threw it into severe long-term debt. For SBS, however, the bloated and bungled project was a cash cow.
Alaska bloggers have reported in recent weeks that “a long simmering embezzelment/IRS scandal is still being looked at by the feds.”

| Maybe. But then the sources of these rumors are hardly objective.
