Chavez Seizes Venezuelan Rice Plants

President Hugo Chavez on Saturday ordered troops to temporarily seize control of all Venezuelan rice processing plants to ensure they produce at full capacity amid soaring inflation and persisting reports of food shortages.

In the past two years, Mr. Chavez has nationalized four major oil projects and some of the country's biggest electricity, telecommunications, steel and cement companies.

Communist rhetoric never changes, likewise, results of too much governmental interference in free markets always results in the same outcomes, when will we ever learn???

Josef Stalin had a conference of Soviet Leaders at the Kremlin in the mid 1930's. In a cage at the end of the conference table was a single chicken, and none of the other leaders could imagine the point the eccentric, all powerful Stalin was trying to make. After keeping his senior leaders waiting for his arrival the "Man of Steel" Stalin had a quick announcement: "Comrades, I am going to give a demonstration of how to treat the Russian People." With that, Stalin went to the cage and plucked the bird clean while it was alive. The bird hysterically squealed and squirmed as Stalin plucked its feathers away and let them fall to the floor. He began a tirade of complaints against each of his ministers as he did this which left each man scared to death for his own survival. The leaders could not believe their eyes although none of them were strangers to cruelty, that the bird could long survive this. Once plucked, Stalin released the bloodied, fear ridden animal, reached into his greatcoat and threw a few kernels of corn on the floor that the bird slowly and quietly ate at the feet of its torturer. Stalin proceeded to the rest of his demands of his leaders. Frequently he stood and paced as he walked describing which food rations would be cut, the number of people who were to be arrested in his purges, and the instructions how they were to be slaughtered, tortured, or merely sent to Siberia to be worked to death. As he walked, following him closely was the chicken. The message was clear. Strip people of all health, prosperity, security, humanity and keep them fearful, and they will follow you.

One of the first things that Hugo did after nationalizing the oil companies was to replace their staff with his own completely inexperienced political cronies. Things finally got so bad that he went and hired Iranians and Arabs to run the company.

He has also turned over a lot of the productive land, particularly on large cattle ranches, to peasant coops that have not the first idea about agricultural production.

Nothing like cutting off your nose to spite your face, Zimbabe which used to be the breadbasket of Africa, can now no longer even import enough food to feed it's people, but racist communism must go on!!

Look for Kenya to soon follow the same path since Obama's pal has gotten his foot in the door, he will murder and use mass violence to gain his way to absolute power, if history is any indicator.

Chavez would not be in office except for Carter's interference, very credible exit polls indicated a 60/40 vote against Hugo but when Jimmy's little band of commies finished counting ballots, it was 60/40 for, a 40% difference, that doesn't happen in the real world.

Ilich Ramirez Sanchez – aka Carlos the Jackal – penned his letter to Obama from the Paris prison where he is serving a life sentence for the murder of two French agents and an informer, and for a series of deadly bomb attacks in Paris and on French trains, the Glasgow Sunday Herald reported today.

Breguet, born in 1950, served 7 years of a 15-year sentence in the 1970s for bringing explosives into Israel to blow up a high rise in Tel Aviv on behalf of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

While Israel refused to release Breguet in response to PFLP demands during the hijacking of several airliners to Jordan in September 1970, the Jewish state pardoned him in 1977 following a "humanitarian campaign" led by numerous intellectuals, including Jean-Paul Sarte, Simone de Beauvoir and Noam Chomsky.

In 1982, Breguet was arrested by Paris police, along with Carlos' wife, for transporting explosives and attempting to shoot a police officer. The gun misfired. The arrests and subsequent prosecution were met with a reign of terror orchestrated by the Venezuela-born Carlos, who was supported by the Soviet KGB and other Eastern European communist secret services.

In the months that followed, eight deadly attacks were launched on French targets after France refused to release his wife and Breguet. Twenty people were killed and many more injured.

Breguet, who was convicted, received early release in 1985 and returned to Switzerland where, by all accounts, he lived a quiet life.

Carlos was sentenced to life in absentia in 1992 by France for his terror attacks and captured in Sudan in 1994. He was returned to Paris and has been in prison since.

Breguet disappeared in November 1995 after traveling from Greece to Italy by ferry. Italian authorities refused him entry and returned him on the same boat. He was not seen again.

Rumors of Breguet's fate abound: He was taken by NATO naval commandos from the ferry and moved to Hungary where he died during interrogation.

Hungary denies any rendition occured on its soil. He was arrested by Greek authorities, a claim denied by Greece's interior minister three months after the disappearance.

A Hungarian paper reported rumors that Breguet was killed by Carlos' associates after he expressed his intention to break all ties to his former comrades.

Carlos' 2003 book, "Revolutionary Islam" called on "all revolutionaries, including those of the left, even atheists," to accept the leadership of Islamists such as Osama bin Laden in order to turn Iraq and Afghanistan into "graveyards of American imperialism."

"Only a coalition of Marxists and Islamists can destroy the United States," the communist revolutionary and convert to Islam wrote in his book.

His Islamic worldview was reflected in the letter to Obama, where he referred to Breguet as a "martyr".
