another nominee's tax problems

Official: Performance czar withdraws candidacy

how can so many people forget to pay taxes. one would think they would be the 1st in line to pay their taxes since it would help the common good.

i love the lib's "do as i say, not as i do" mentallity.

This is indeed a disturbing trend and I agree ought to be taken more seriously by the administration for the effect it has of undermining their credibility.

Yes - as some Congressman said yesterday. "I understand way Democrats support raising taxes, they don't pay them!" (paraphrase).

I bet the Republican nominee for Commerce Secy paid his taxes...

This has been a major black eye. This and the going back on the whole "no lobbyists in [his] administration" campaign line that has been completely disregarded.

It's like sex scandals for Republicans. It's more about the irony than the actual event. Obama makes a big deal about openess, ethics, etc. then has 3 tax skaters, and multiple lobbyists requiring waivers from his own lobbyist rule.

Bottomline, be careful what you promise or rail against.

With Geithner, Daschle, and then add Rangel, Franken. Now with the NYT's taking a sledge hammer to Daschle, lets see what happens next.

The problem is easily solved, don't confirm them. Congress needs to do something about this, it has become disgusting. Why would the Obama administration even put these guys up for confirmation? At a time when money is flowing out of the government faster than a pure bred russian race horse-we are putting guys in office who don't feel the need to pay.

Well, Daschle is a tax cheat and lobbyist all rolled into one, twice the fun.

While I wish that would happen, the Dems have control, and how many are willing to throw their political lives away voting against the savior of the country.

I agree. Just beacuse it's easy, doesn't mean it's going to happen.
