If I had a million dollars ....

I'd call droski and tell him to short all U.S. retailers for me for Friday-Monday after Thanksgiving. Despite the sales sure to be in place, I predict mall parking lots noticeably not as busy as usual and weekend sales figures after T-giving to be on the low side of dismal.

I think you will really see nerves tested on Monday the 1st.

you'll soon have 900K because the expectations are already so putrid that a surprise to the upside wouldn't be unexpected at all.

I hear you, but we've been saying for a couple of months that the low expectations are already factored in. And yet every time another report comes out (that we knew was coming) the market takes a dive anyway.

I just get the sense from all corners that everyone is reeling it in big time this year.

It would be stashed in a Swiss bank account under a false name.

And within ten business days of the day you are right, the market bottom will be established. Once the low numbers coming in doesn't drive things even lower once again, that's when the market has truly processed all it can handle.

If I had a million dollars I would write myself a check for $961 every week for the next 20 years. Might even quit my job.

I guess I was about 3/4 right, albeit for the wrong reasons. But, if I was cashing in on my short orders, I wouldn't particularly care about why I was right to the tune of about $80,000 in profit.
