Effective New McCain Ad?

I think this one could be effective - especially the message at the end that "it's okay"

This is a Clinton delegate from Wisconsin.

At least it's not an attack ad.

I cant watch it since I am at work, but I think I've seen it. Honestly, McCain is getting ready to backfire, he needs to put out stuff that isn't an attack or people are going to get sick of it.

it wasn't really an attack ad just a Hillary supporter saying it's ok for Dems to vote for McCain

I don't think it's effective at all because they used one person. If they had a crowd of people saying the same message it would be very effective but now it looks desperate. Looks like, "hey, we actually found somebody that did support Hillary and will vote for McCain." It just looks like something Ralph Nader or Bob Barr would put together.

There's no attack in it. In fact, it doesn't mention Obama at all.

If it's not pro Obama it's an attack ad. Talking about not voting for BO is off limits, or didn't you get the memo?

Historically speaking the candidate that is in the lead cannot get away with attack adds but the "underdog" gets a lot more leeway and benefits from carefully designed "attack adds".

He certainly hasn't led and most polls show Obama with the slight edge, though that does seem to be changing gradually. Bottom line is Obama had the perceived momentum and McCain will get a little more leeway in the negative add department than Obama would.

The last polling I have seen is both men tied at 45% but Obama leads in the electorial which sounds all too familar to 2000. Obama is playing the role of Bush and McCain is playing the Gore role right now.
