Now, their function is simply massively expensive, destroys efficiency and ultimately destroys outfits like the airlines and auto mfrs.
at its worst, I buy that. But I can't imagine "all their usefulness" is undermined. increased access to information doesn't mean that workers don't need people out there fighting for them.

The issue is unions working to benefit their workers, which they have done. The negative here is that over time they have gone too far and now those same union employees are draining the companies they work for and driving the price of the goods they make up artificially. Bottom line is they were sorely needed at one time but like many things where power is involved got out of hand.

Tell me the good the unions do? What do workers need that has to be fought for?

Unions serve the same philosphy as the D party, to keep everyone on the farm.

the problem i see with unions is that if you bust your tail working hard, you'll get the same raise as the guy thats always late and always slacking on the job.

my dad worked as a painter and he said he would be working and would come upon guys that would hide behind equipment and sleep. he said he saw it all the time. he said they rarely got in trouble and they never got fired. he said so much money was wasted because there was very litter accountability or the oversight was so ineffecient people got away with everthing.

with a private company, if you bust your tail and work hard, you have a much better chance of suceeding.

I get you hate Rush, not that I care but I get it. Rush has a radio show that you have the option of not listening to. Micheal Moore is propaganda at its finest.
Call out some of the crap that Moore has spewed over the years, and maybe I'll listen to what you have to say. Rush's show consists of getting under the skin of libs like you and calling out "the media" (I know you love that term). Moore makes a living off of conspiracies and promoting Socialism. You listen to what you want, I'll do the same.

You are correct...because those that disagree with you cannot possibly have their own opinions...if we disagree with you it is because we take our marching orders from Rush.

You, and those that agree with you, are obviously the only free and independent thinkers on here and I tip my hat to your superior knowledge and intellect.

What help specifically? Migrant workers making very low wages appreciate having them garnished by unions?

Careful, if you make posts like that he'll claim you have an inferiority complex.

volsforever's inferiority complex is apparently contagious.

where did I state that you can't disagree with me? Where did I state you can't have your own opinion? I simply reminded posters that LG's use of a Michael Moore contribution is but one of few examples compared to its equivalent on the right side. do you disagree with that?

they appreciate things such as work standards, like water breaks in 130-degree tobacco fields, medical care access should they pass out in said heat, protection from pesticides, and assurance of agreed upon wages.

I'm sure anything they are getting is already required by federal law. But yeah, keep on paying the master(union rep) for those so called services you are getting.

Perhaps a look in the mirror is in order. Pointing out the tone of your posts has nothing to do with feeling inferior... in fact, it brings on a feeling quite the opposite.

The more interesting thing to me is that I would be called a troll for posting a pro-liberal piece in the politics forum at all. I thought it was just "politics," not some wing or the other. Is this by definition a conservative forum only? Are all things that are pro-liberal "trolling"?

Says a lot that folks assume that anything liberal is so out of the ordinary here that its trolling.
