| I'm assuming they meant that gas had risen to the point that it was taking 7% of their annual income. That would mean an income of roughly $41,000 a year and since its the average person, I'm going to go one step further and assume that references their pre-tax income. |

Well, guess it depends on whether the gross annual salary of the average person in La. and Ga. is $41,000 a year, or $51,000 a year. |

| Plenty of people who did the "drive to qualify" jug are now in a world of hurt because of gas prices. Not only are they commuting farther, but many of these communities are so new that the public transit hasn't caught up to them. It's a shame. |

Who does he hang out with on the weekends, Forbes, Murdoch, and Trump? Why we need to keep gas above $4 | this is the same thing that a democrat congressman or senator said. she said that we need not drill our own oil because it will force us to drive less and force us to invest more in alternative energy. apparently they will not even bring it up for any type of committee vote to even debate it. i guess she's hanging around forbes and murdoch also. |

Well, not a lot, as a percentage, but you seem to be talking only about PIT, whereas I'm including FICA and any state taxes, too, where applicable. |

| i know one thing, it's to a joke to think the left is truly concerned about high gas prices. they don't care one bit, they think it's great because they want to force everyone to buy a prius and walk to work. they have become so beholded to the whacko leftists of this country and it's killing the normal American. |

I pay for my fuel monthly (got the ol' co-op card) and put about 25K-30K miles on my car each year, my gas butget went from $275-325 to about $675-700 but when it got high back in the spring I traded my 19mpg truck for a 28mpg car which has brought it down to about $475-525 per month and being a realtor my pay has dropped, but there is still business to be had you just have to work harder, so I agree it is not the govt fault, I hope they can play a small role in fixing it but still I traded to cut my budget.

Who cares if he has a tough time getting it through. It shows he uses flawed thinking, why would you want to vote for someone that has that. | Show me a candidate that doesn't used flawed thinking. |
