(And by the way, the more I think about it, the more I think the analogy is a poor one since I really think Bush has not micromanaged Iraq in any way comparable to the way that Hitler insisted on directing his war.)
As to your other comment, I personally know very few people who engage in vitriolic hyperbole when it comes to Bush. Sure, there are some ultra-leftist nutballs out there who say horrible things about him, but most mainstream folks who are tired of this administration are anti-Bush because he's done such a poor job of running the country, not because of ideology.
A friend of mine -- a Republican by the way -- said it best to me the other day. She said, "I just cringe every time he (Bush) starts to speak." She feels that Bush's incompetence has single-handedly handed the Congress to the Democrats and further that everytime he speaks, he's just about guaranteed to make a fool of himself even further, and to just add fuel to the fire. She says that she just wants him off the stage as soon as possible. | That is complete nonsense! Most people don't know squat about Hitler and WWII. Especially the Liberal Arts Major types who are responsible for things like the Bush Hitler comparison. They did it because they looked at him like an evil murdering SOB! Just look at some of the things that were said in the lead up and during the first opening months of the war. One comparison I heard was that the strategic bombing of Baghdad looked like Dresden (paraphrasing)! That doesn't hold water LG. |

When I said "no one" I was referring to the posts in this thread. As I noted elsewhere, there have been some looney tunes leftists out there who just hate Bush so much that they have unjustifiably likened him to Hitler in moral terms.
Again, I do not do that. My only comparison was that both Hitler and Bush made some errors in war strategy. And, once again, I have said just a little while back that the more I think about that the less accurate my analogy is because Bush's mistakes are borne of incompetence and hands-off management whereas Hitler's were borne of insanity and micromanagement of the war.
It bears repeating:
Hitler = evil.
Bush = doofus. Quote:

That is going to come back to bite him in the butt, no doubt.
