Maybe they should remain on their backs in their tombs wrt fractions. |

Yet they have set up a system in their own party where some delegates get half votes. In addition, if party officials do not like the results, they can override the will of the voters and select their own candidate via super delegates (party officials). For my Democratic friends, how do you reconcile the contradiction? |
This is pretty simple to answer, it's all about the rules. The rules of the 2000 election were that every vote would count in deciding a President. The voters in Florida and Michigan were told well ahead of time that their vote would not count. If before voting in the 2000 election Florida was told that their vote would not count than it would be a different story. Barrack Obama wasn't on the ballot in Michigan, Hillary knew the rules before playing and many voters didn't show up thinking the vote wouldn't count. Would you go wait in line for an hour to vote for nothing? If you support Obama in Michigan would you go to the polls if his name were not on the ballot? To make my answer short, it's comparing apples to oranges. |

In 2000 the rules were that butterfly ballots were acceptable, yet Democrats argued after the fact that they were not.
In 2000, the rules stated for a vote to count, the ballot had to be completely punched, yet Democrats argued after the fact that hanging and dimpled chads should count.
Why are rules so important now and not then? |

| To add a little fuel to the fire here, the D's also didn't want to coun a lot of military absentee votes, if memory serves.

I know they didn't follow the rules, but it is a little hard for me to justify punishing the democratic citizens because of a democratic party gaffe.
Oh well...it's done...probably.... | Can't wait for Jesse and Al to try to spin this into a 3/5 of a man argument.
Or maybe not, considering they probably will support Obama...
