| Bush wishes he could fight in "romantic" Afghanistan., Bush is "envious" of soldiers fighting in Afghanistan Quote: Bush is "envious" of soldiers fighting in Afghanistan
From the article:
"I must say, I'm a little envious," Bush said. "If I were slightly younger and not employed here, I think it would be a fantastic experience to be on the front lines of helping this young democracy succeed."
"It must be exciting for you ... in some ways romantic, in some ways, you know, confronting danger. You're really making history, and thanks," Bush said.
| Thoughts?

| I'm pretty sure the families who have had the misfortune of greeting the remains of their loved ones can relate.

......P.O.S. | I am pretty sure that most all of the families of soldiers that I have lost have stated, across the board, that their son did indeed love what he did. A lot of these young men also die under very courageous and heroic circumstances, most of those families are extremely proud.
While, I disagree with what GWB said, there has, since the Meggido, been a romantic feeling attached to most battles. Calling the POTUS a POS for that is certainly showing a lack of understanding for where he might have been coming from.

| You know what they say about opinions? It is easy to criticize a man when you have never walked in his shoes. He and the government may know more than we do and rightfully so. Our openness as a society is our biggest weakness as well as our greatest strength. |

That is basically what everything on this board is based on.Ones own opinion. I'm glad you also realize that some on this board take their opinion as gospel. |

Some people do not know how to argue without getting angry and that makes a good debate impossible. |
