Government employees deserve retirements too. He was convicted of criminal contempt which IMO isn't that big of a deal. The case was over seized drug money used to fund government projects. It isn't like he was using it to buy himself a car. Plus POST chose not to take his certification.
so it's OK to misappropriate funds, then spend that money on things that don't have to be approved through the civic regulatory process. Smells a bit like Iran-Contra money. Additionally, the position change shenanigans to avoid loss of certification actually resulting in a large raise is just stupid.
I don't know the facts, but if they are as presented in the article, he deserves nothing.
