Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid Calls Joint Chiefs Chairman Peter Pace 'Incompetent

FOXNews.com - Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid Calls Joint Chiefs Chairman Peter Pace 'Incompetent' - Politics | Republican Party | Democratic Party | Political Spectrum

Quote:
WASHINGTON — Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid confirmed Thursday that he told liberal bloggers last week that he thinks outgoing Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Peter Pace is "incompetent."
Reid also disparaged Army Gen. David Petraeus, head of Multinational Forces in Iraq.
But Reid, whose comments to bloggers first appeared in The Politico, also told reporters: "I think we should just drop it."
Reid's admission came as reporters peppered him with questions about Pace and Petraeus, overshadowing a Capitol Hill press conference designed to highlight Democratic attempts to improve fuel economy and energy efficiency.
Reid said he told Pace face-to-face recently that he had performed poorly as an adviser on the conduct of the Iraq war.
"I believe that General Pace would not be if he had come forward to be reappointed the chairman of the Joints Chiefs. It wouldn't have happened and I'm not going to get into what I said or didn't say. There is a long list of people including Senators (Carl) Levin and (Jack) Reed and others who have talked about General Pace long before I did. I think we should just drop it. The fact is, he's not going to be the chairman of the Joint Chiefs, for which I'm happy," Reid said.
Typical liberal democrat.........

Harry Reid doesn't possess enough manhood to be the cup in General Pace's jockstrap. A comment like his is typical of the left's contempt for the military.

Harry Reid, is, well Harry Reid. If your head is screwed on tight enough, that is all i need to say. Not that i hum 'stars and stripes forever' when i think about the middle east, but the Lefties rooting for us to get driven out of Iraq piss me off more than I've been in my life.

If they think us running will make peace in the middle east, then they drunk more kool aid than anyone i know. If nothing else, things will get worse. The Arabs want Israel gone, and, like Mike Savage said last night, the Hebrews aren't going to go silently like they did before Hitler...If they feel the existance of Israel is in doubt due to an Islamic offensive, then they are going to toss beach balls at Damascus, Tehran, Amman, and wherever else they need to.

But as long as the sheep of the news media vote at the polls for what Katie Couric says, as opposed to what common sense says, we're only delaying the inevitable.

It's pathetic that he would disparage an officer like Pace to make his point about Iraq. A professional politician, ie Harry Reid, is altogether unqualified to discuss anything that includes someone having to actually work.

Wow, reading your posts about Reid reminds me of how sick you must be with your own party. After all, it was the poor performance by the Republicans that resulted in Reid's success.

That may be the most accurate thing I've ever seen you post in this forum. The idea that the GOP screwed the pooch so badly that they couldn't overcome 2 partisan hacks like Reid and Pelosi is completely maddening.

It's what I imagine you felt like when you voted for John Kerry.

By the way are you still holding me to the Obama support stuff?

Or was that a bargain I made with someone else?

I still say that "Barack Obama's" would be a great name for a chain restaurant.
