If it passes, i hope they lose all federal funding. It's fine if Cali citizens want to do this but the rest of the country doesn't need to subsidize it.

I love how the title does makes not distinction between illegals and immigrants.

California rebukes Trump with health care push for immigrants - POLITICO

Cal should be poster child of the disaster of illegals for the country to study.. The middle class is fleeing the state due to high taxes and crime which is crushing their tax base . The state is already 50% non English speaking as the primary language. The coast remains wealthy but inland is becoming transformed rapidly to some unrecognizable form 20 years ago.. NICE JOB CALI

US government needs to wise up and start using these ridiculous laws against Cali. Restart catch and release but release only in Cali or New York. Save a ton on deportation costs. Its a sanctuary state lets use it.

Their federal funding could be used for plenty of other things: building the wall, securing schools, VA reform, military projects/replacement of obsolete artillery, infrastructure, etc.

The issue with that is. They could leave those 2 states without any opposition. NY and Cali needs a big beautiful wall around them to keep all of their "immigrants" in.

No.

No. More. Spending.

Spending is an insidious disease America contracted somewhere along the way. When a "conservative" poster's first thought is "let's spend the federal money somewhere else", the disease has obviously turned malignant and metastasized.

I didn’t say spend it all, but there are needs much greater than funding a rogue, socialist state.

If the money isn’t being used to diminish debt, and it won’t be, why not put it towards useful improvements?

I agree. Spending has to be cut, and tremendously, I just don’t see it happening.

Our country as it was founded is done, then. Only a matter of time now.

Never forget that the rate of increase in deficit spending has always been highest under republican presidents. Trump will continue that trend.

"I only have a little AIDS."

lol

You brag about the oddest things.

Just have always been flabbergasted at the right's gullibility and ignorance as they continue to claim that their party is the party of small government, reduced spending, and fiscal responsibility.

Actually, your generalizations aside, I constantly lambaste the Republicans for their spending just as I don the Libs. McDad actually blatantly called the conservatives out for their problems in this area.

Your response?

"My AIDS is better than your AIDS."

Sigh. You brag about the oddest things.

But you both continually believe that the repub. party is better in those regards. My AIDS is being treated and in remission, yours is in its final stages.

You really shouldn't speak when you don't know what the heck you're talking about. I constantly say that the R and D parties are two sides of the same corrupt coin. Just this week, I posted that fact. As a matter of fact, this week, I posted that the Rs are just as bad on spending as the Ds and the Ds are just as bad war-mongers as the Rs.

Wasn't claiming that at all

Both reps and dems serve the Fed on fiscal matters and divide us on social policy to distract from the fact that they are lining the pockets of the elites at our expense. Note that both are war mongers as well because war is part of the US fiscal policy.

But you both continually believe that the repub. party is better in those regards. My AIDS is being treated and in remission, yours is in its final stages.

You should just apologize and then sit down, joker.

No other state comes close to California in terms of total welfare spending - MarketWatch

1. California $103 billion
2. New York $61 billion
3. Texas $35 billion
4. Florida $27 billion
5. Pennsylvania $27 billion
6. Illinois $21 billion
7. Ohio $20 billion
8. Massachusetts $19 billion
9. New Jersey $17 billion
10. Michigan $16 billion

Nor does any other state come close to California in state GDP. Check out the correlation. Which states spend most on welfare as a % of state GDP. A much more informative stat.
