Will be great to watch all those Congressional members who routinely do this express their outrage that anyone would do this.

But it’s the people on food stamps and liberals that are ruining this once great country.

I think you have to be a real dumb**s to find this noteworthy. What planet are you from?

That it's done is not particularly note worthy. That someone is stupid enough to freely, openly and unnecessarily admit to it is noteworthy, especially when that person is eyeing the Chief of staff role, which would (in theory) put him in a gatekeeper role between Trump and those who would be willing to pay for access.

If someone has served in public office at any level, I think it goes without saying this is how they’ve prioritized their schedule. In fact, many likely don’t even put their constituents #1, so kudos to Mick.

This is some excellent spin.

He's exposing what everyone knows and no one talks about.

This could be the beginning of a significant shift.

He’s “exposing” something he currently does? You think he muttered this phrase behind close doors because he wanted to shed light on an unethical issue that he takes part in?

Reading more about Mulvaney. Sounds like a real POS.

"Mulvaney received almost $63,000 from payday lenders. When he took over the C.F.P.B., one of his first moves was to pay it forward by declaring open season on vulnerable debtors stuck paying usurious fees to white-collar loan sharks. In January, he directed the C.F.P.B. to drop its lawsuit against a group of lenders in Kansas who were allegedly charging interest rates as high as 950 percent. The bureau did not give any explanation. (“He seems extremely reasonable,” the founder of a top payday-lending lobbying group told The New York Times in February, as industry leaders prepared to celebrate their good fortune with a retreat at the Trump National Doral Golf Club.)"

He claims wrongdoing while working with congress - something probably common. He's not even on Trump's staff, but the notoriety isn't because of what happened in congress, it's the potential future link to Trump. If he had been shifting to a different congressperson, we'd never have heard about it.

Should Trump drop the guy like a hot potato? You betcha. The real outrage right now should be aimed at congressional ethics - the utter lack of ethics, but it's not, and won't be.

Its not even wrongdoing. He’s saying if he has 30 min and he has multiple lobbyists wanting to meet, he’s more likely to meet w the one who has supported him

He does work for Trump. He left his seat in congress to become a cabinet level official appointed by Trump as the director of the office of budget and management. He is also the head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, where it looks like he took care of a bunch of lobbyists by dropping lawsuits. Lobbyists who most likely gave him money.

Yep, betcha there are going to be some investigators sniffing around trying to find out why those payday lending lawsuits were dropped after Mulvaney took over CFPB.

It surprises me that anyone would defend this. I am changing a long held view of mine that the politicians are ruining this country.

It is us. We the mother f#cking people that justify the criminal acts of our elected officials solely because they have the correct letter to the left of their name.

We suck.

Actually, he said he would not meet with any lobbyist who had not contributed to him. He did say that he would meet with constituents regardless of contributions, though.
