Setting policy in Jerusalem

Anyone who believes a "two-state" solution is still plausible is delusional. The liberals in Europe and elsewhere believe the Jews should just relinquish east Jerusalem, the Golan Heights and all sorts of other territory DESPITE THE FACT that the Palis are engaged in never-ending war against the Jewish state and refuse to accept a Jewish state. Let's remember that many European nations were complicit with Hitler in murdering Jews. The Europeans are the LAST people that should be telling Israel or the U.S. to do anything.

From the article:

But the decision was met with skepticism by some of Trump's international peers, who are concerned it could be the final nail in the coffin of the two-state solution and could provide recruiting fodder to radicals.

Don't you think the Israelites should decide when and how Jerusalem will be their capital and if it will be their capital? Why should Trump make the choice for them? And with things already being tense in the region, why kick the hornet's nest? It's the wrong way to handle it however you feel about the future of the nation of Israel.

Israel itself declared Jerusalem to be their capital decades ago.

Israel has been asking us to move our embassy to Jerusalem for years.

It was their capital before Islam even existed. The fact this is a "hot" issue shows how crazy Muslims are over there.

The only reason they think they have a claim to it is that Mohammed had a vision/dream that he would ascend to heaven from there or some other mumbo jumbo fake nonsense.

Simply put if you have a dream that you drive your neighbors nice car then when you wake up you can go over and just take his car because you know, god told you it was ok... That is the logic these people are going with.

The historical argument is weak. Any number of foreign powers have occupied the area since the kingdom fell. Of course, the kingdom conquered it from the original occupiers, who were arabs, and the account in the bible of the first kingdom, at least, is a bit ambiguous as to whether it was the Jews or the Cainanites who controlled the place, if you care to poke into the text.

Can we agree the logic of anyone that chooses to believe ancient texts verbatim is flawed?

no, because what the Bible wrote many years ago has come to fruition. there is no denying that.

I find it interesting that a country that is smaller that most US cities is hated so much by the world. why has Israel been a despised people, country, nation for hundreds of years?
what is the rationale for that hate?
why do college campuses hate Israel and jews to such a degree?

The Bible states that Israel will be a nation. That happened. The Bible also states that Israel will like a stone in the shoe (paraphrasing) to the world. I think if you study Israel's history, you would agree that Israel has caused a great deal trouble. Not of it own will, but by only existing.
