House Passes Tax Reform

Step two will be much more difficult. Trump has showed himself to be a total fraud. A tax cut for the rich and big business isn't going to help average Americans. Trump was going to work to lower drug prices--and not only does he not talk about that any more but he's stacked Health and Human Services with former drug industry execs and lobbyists, as he has done with other agencies--the administration if full of GOP/business flunkies. Go to YouTube and listen to former Reagan Budget Director David Stockman talk about this tax plan--he savages it, says it is a (bad) joke. And he's a Republican. He says that if the Trumpsters really wanted to help Americans, they'd cut the payroll tax.

Why do average Americans vote for Republicans who have shown time and time again for ages--20/30 years--that they only care about rich people and big corporations? Wise up.

Jesus you are thick. Cutting payroll taxes would undermine the social welfare programs you love so much. What about the poor and elderly you were so concerned about two pages ago?

Its not "tax reform." Quit dressing up the pig.

Its tax cuts, the vast majority for the wealthy and corporate and investment class.

The lower working class is completely f'd. The middle class is given some window dressing cuts, but they will quickly be swallowed up.

Congrats to the GOP for doing the bidding of their super wealthy masters.

How is the lower class “f’d”?

People need to understand something, this country was built by big money and capitalism. If you believe otherwise then you are just misinformed. Guys like Ford, Rockefeller, Chase, Vanderbilt, Astor, Girard, Carnagie, Mellon. These are the guys that basically built this country. As much as most of us hate the big money guys, without them we would be literally nothing. While the big time bankers have f'd up our country on one hand, without them we would likely be a 3rd world country without them. We need big businesses to be happy so our economy can succeed.

No tax reform is ever going to benefit the middle class and poor more than the rich. It doesnt work that way.

Not at the level he is talking about.

Look, I am all for incentivizing responsible and sustainable growth, and for reinvestment of capital. But the notion that the corporate tax cut is going to lead to factories and jobs is just ludicrous WITHOUT DEMAND DRAMATICALLY INCREASING from the rest of the economy.

You want to incentivize more factories and jobs? Spur demand. Not wealth where it has negligible effect on the broader economy.

How about incentivizing the creation of wealth instead of punishing it?

Most new millionaires are 1st generation.. They are the groups of people likely to take risk and start a small business...

Uh, I believe there are plenty of incentives to create wealth already in America. Who says that there aren't? Chopping the estate tax for multi-millionaires and chopping the corporate tax rate will do ZERO to create jobs. A lower corporate tax rate might help investors but it is not going to do a damn thing to create jobs or bring jobs back to America. Stable societies have progressive, stable tax systems. Most dysfunctional countries have weak tax systems. David Stockman, Reagan's budget director, has savaged this tax plan. It's not like Republicans have tried this before. Bush did the same thing--no trickle down.

So tell us your solution.. Both R's and D's thinks that tax reform is needed
