EO.

Says it will make cheaper policies available for millions of people. Millions. Cheaper but somehow better coverage and care.

Can't wait.

Doubtful, the healthcare system will collapse and at this stage not much anyone is going to do about it.

Isn't this exactly what people and Trump himself got upset with Obama about? Going around congress and making policy unilaterally?

Dude just spews word salad out of his mouth. Is completely ignorant on policy. He couldn't tell you what's he's signing, just that someone told him it will hurt Obamacare

I don't think anyone needs to "hurt Obamacare", it was doomed to collapse from the get go - score some temporary political points, maybe.

This EO appears to benefit younger people and those without pre existing conditions. Thus, it could draw them from existing groups where their higher premiums support folks who are older and/or have pre existing conditions.

This will likely translate to eventual higher premiums for you old farts on this board.

You put this moron in office. Sorry, Charlie!

Higher rates have been coming and will continue to go up.

It has issues but the Trump admistration constantly wanting to kill it has caused greater market instability with insurers having no idea what's going to happen. The bill proposed by Lamar Alexander would have helped shore up the markets, but they want to just move on to tax reform apparently.

None of that is going to work for obvious reason - hospitals, administrators, and doctors can charge whatever they want regardless of consumer protection laws and RICO statutes. They can collude and fix prices, and even engage in anti-trust behavior - nobody is stopping them, who do you think they fund? Oh yeah, the politicians.

The costs will continue to go up because why wouldn't they. Grouping people together really doesn't solve a thing - costs will continue to go up at a crazy rate.

Obamacare never made any sense, neither does whatever The Orange Man wants -- nothing is going to be solved, but at some point it will collapse.

It was designed to fail and usher in single-pay.

Yeah, but none of that is going to work either, eventually the whole medical industry will have to collapse. Nobody really wants to enforce the laws on the books so I fail to see why new legislation will help.

And the same thing Obama and his supporters were upset with W about then he went around Congress and made policy unilaterally.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss who was the same as the boss before him

Good.

I see no problem with the people who use more healthcare paying more for it.

Interesting perspective - if you aren't forced to subsidize other people that's a benefit?

I'd phrase it this way - the EO appears to not punish younger people as badly as ACA did.

I'm betting you're one of those people who thinks the tax code determines how much of the government's money we let the earner keep.

Trump probably really believes he can deliver a workable healthcare system by signing an executive order.

Idk everything in the bill but limiting the regulations on health care associations (which makes it easier to form non profit health insurance collectives) and limiting the barriers between state lines are both great moves.

One of the lefts biggest complaints is that health insurance shouldn't be for profit. This makes that complaint obsolete.

In 24 hours, Trump has explicitly threatened the freedom of the press and an EO overhaul of legislation.

Just forget about who did what and think about the massive constitutional **** fit you would be having if Obama were doing this right now. STFU about the last guy. You didn't want to hear it from them, either. We can't change the past. You guys are just helping to normalize what should be an unacceptable present.

He has no idea what he's doing. The powers that be drew this up, told him its a good thing and would make it look like he's getting something done.

So then he of course went off the deep end claiming that "millions and millions" will now get less expensive coverage and better care.

Which is literally impossible.
