Yes you do. You're just not free from consequence by your employer.
Looks like the NFL has no problem with the protests since they are not punishing those who protest. Other than Kaepernick of course.
And you just posted a contradiction. Freedom of Speech is when you can say almost whatever you want without consequence. When you are employed by an organization, you forefit your first amendment rights when you accept employment.
It isn't him exercising his right, it's the message he's sending. All of this disrespect toward the anthem and by extension the country is misplaced.
Why?
Because hes being a little *****, disrespecting those who let him play with a ****ing football for a living. We have soldiers, who are wheel chair bound, but will still stand even if with support for the anthem.
Because they have a right to do so. Not going into politics, but look at the climate created by the idiots in power. That flag stands for that very protest.
A PEACEFUL PROTEST.
The flag is just a flag, the anthem is just a song, and the country is just a land mass with people on it if the idea of a peaceful demonstration gets you guys crying.
If things were reversed, you'd scream and whine about how bad the world is.
No. Your employer can't incarcerate you for voicing your beliefs. Only the state has power over your freedom. All an employer can do is deny you a privilege (which is what employment is). No one has a right to a job. But you do have the right to say whatever you want free from bodily harm which is what the first amendment protects.
Because hes being a little *****, disrespecting those who let him play with a ****ing football for a living. We have soldiers, who are wheel chair bound, but will still stand even if with support for the anthem.
More deflection. I thought we already went through this dance last year with Kaepernick? These protests have nothing to with the military. Stop trying to use them as a straw man in this argument.
The protesters have been very clear. They are protesting the unjusitifed killing of unarmed black men by the police. PERIOD. Nobody said anything about the military. And they are using this form of protest to bring attention that issue.
Stop trying to change the subject to something it's not because you don't want to tackle the issue being actually discussed.
