In the past two years, as Trump rose from improbable candidate to the 45th President, Breslin kept quiet, having stopped publishing his thoughts years ago.
But just about a week ago, Breslin was privately at it again. Former Daily News editor Pete Hamill recalled that Breslin was “addled” by Trump in a recent phone call.
“He knew Trump's father, because Trump's father was a Queens guy and Jimmy was the poet laureate of Queens,” Hamill told The News.
Watching Trump in the White House left Breslin “a bit sour with what’s going on in our country.”
“Mainly because (Trump was) the kind of guy that in my neighborhood in Brooklyn and (Breslin’s) in Queens we despised,” Hamill said.
“The bulls--t tough guy. The guy is all mouth and couldn’t fight his way out of an empty lot.”

Trump’s Queens origins helps explain his political rise, this Richie Rich’s abilities to tap working class white resentments so effectively. Every kid from Queens is born with a chip on his shoulder the size of Trump Place.
Breslin nailed Trump’s outer-borough insecurity in 1989, branding him “Between you and I” Trump. Breslin explained that Trump’s grammatical mistake reflected his unrealized aspirations, because “Between you and I,” sounds “tonier” than the correct “you and me.” Breslin, who mastered Queens’ street-talk and the Queen’s English, specialized in seeing through the pretenses of high-fliers like Trump.

TL;DR version:

Trump uses words to intimidate but not his fists. Sometimes the words he uses are incorrect.

Powerful insight, imo. Amazed Breslin had the control to sit on this bombshell for so long.

Not news but funny. I don't think anyone is scared to fight Trump in a street fight. He just seems like a loud mouthed pu$$y.

Thank Goodness! I thought this was gonna be a story about him being a frequent visitor to the same bathhouse as Barry.

Obama's character and decorum are far more desirable than Trump's. He sucked as a President but most do.
I am not too high on the character of any of them, Obama included. They are all ruthless a-holes, or they wouldn't be where they are. We don't need a nice guy.

Decorum? Who cares how they decorate the White House, other than GCB?

You know things are bad when Rasmussen is polling negative.

Can someone remind me which polls are acceptable again?

I don't think any of this comes as a shock to anyone.

Who cares? He is the President if he has zero percent approval.

Yes, yes '72, we're all aware that you are oblivious to things like dignity, decorum and respect for the Office. You ask who care's - it would appear that the answer is evident given his shockingly low approval ratings.

Imma' go check the mail box for that border wall check from Mexico while you regale us with how "polls suck" and deflect to Obama and or Clinton.
