"Two of the US Navy’s F/A-18 Super Hornet fighter jets have crashed off the coast of North Carolina on Thursday, the US Coast Guard confirmed. Their crews have been recovered and taken to a hospital."

"Four people have been recovered and taken to the Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia, the Virginian-Pilot reported citing Coast Guard Petty Officer Fagal Nifin."

"In flight mishap" ???

These guys were screwing around most likely.

Yea its $60.9 for the Super Hornets. This doesn't help out the problem. The Navy and Marines are all having problems keeping their planes maintained.

This isn't surprising as I saw the same thing in the 90s.

Perhaps if the .mil started skipping the useless studies and mandatory training not related to job/combat performance, stopped pumping money into the disaster known as the F-35 program and stop wasting money on weapons procurement/development when COTS systems are readily available, the services would have more money.

Sorry, seems we're all posting within monents of each other after we go do a price check.

OK Carlos "Come on Down"!

Huff, sorry, since you went over by $4.1M, you're eliminated. But hang around for the consolation round.

Obviously, one or two of these fellows has too much info on Bill Clinton, and they tried to kill them. Check the maintence crews. See which one is from Arkansas. Follow all leads. Create a committee. Have Judicial Watch sue for all records.

F18's are for young men that want to fly the F15. The 15 would embarrass an 18 in air to air combat.

When budget cuts take affect pilots don't get there right amount of flight hours and maintenance crews don't always get the parts they need.

99.9% of the time maintenance has nothing to do with aircraft mishaps. "Having trouble maintaining them" just means getting spare parts is becoming a pain in the ass.

MCO (Orlando International) is about to lose a radar system because we can't get 2 modems...been on order for 3 months. Thanks Obama!

But seriously..when money gets cut in the maintenance field what happens is you lose the ability to get parts ASAP.

With over 50 cents of every tax dollar in this country going to the military, it doesn't seem realistic that this accident is because of lack of funds....

Stuff happens unfortunately....

The defense budget only makes up 16% of the National Budget.

Fool. Don't you get it? This is Obama/Clinton's fault. I hear Trump is asking where Clinton's aunt was in the date of the Kennedy assassination.

What's that?

You don't know where your aunt was? ???

Hmmmmm....

I'm not saying she was involved. But, you know, people are starting to ask questions.

Interesting. They interviewed a bunch of officers who know nothing about aircraft maintenance...
