Should the Navy change "midshipman"

As of Wednesday night, more than 90 percent of the over 4,000 participants in The Capital's informal online poll voted against changing midshipman to a gender-neutral term.

Well, 10% want to change it, it NEEDS to be done!

I did have a female troop that objected to the term "Airman" at one point. I reminded her the other option was "civilian" if she was that adamant about it.

ETA: I do like this better:

"I vote for midpirates," someone else commented.

No.. because the biggest impact women have had to sailing is when people lost their minds and saw "mermaids"..

Any job that has a title that ends in "beinggood" SPACE"MAN/MEN" is gonna be changed. Even limp wrist beta/omega liberals realize women have had zero impact on nautical history.

Example:

Lifting Heavy objects man would become Lifting Heavy Objects person.

Doing the job rightman would still remain Doing the job rightman.

Beta/Omega male =female.

They could follow the brilliant minds in UT Administration and call them MidShipZe.

To settle it we should have women battle men in swimming...freestyle 100 meter...I'm sure that will work out well.............

How about title IX for the Navy.

Navy Seals. Men.
Navy Manatees. Women.
