On what grounds would/could Israel be justified in preemptively striking Iran? Has Israel opened their doors to nuclear inspections? Has Israel signed the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty?

USA needs to get off of that Middle East oil tit and allow that whole region to just go up in flames. Invest those defense dollars in domestic infrastructure... natural gas, pipelines, open up the Alaskan northern slope, fracking, oil sands. Don't need to be in that region at all. Let Russia and Europe police the lawlessness if they want.

Good post. A nuclear war in the middle of the Middle East would be a disaster. In fact any nuclear war would be a disaster. Can't see how USA dodges the bullet and stays out if it ever comes to that however.
