Now they are saying that the Chinese got the personal data of every active and retired federal employee.

This is a major breach that concerns millions. Sorry 79.

Welcome to the future. This seems terrible, because information is currently asymetric, but we will get to a point of total transparency in government.

We know China was behind it. This should be considered an act of war. We should immediately place huge tariffs on all goods coming in from China.

What happens when China comes calling for us to pay our tab in response?

Gimme a break. That's not going to do anything, IMO, except make their people hate us (and then embolden their government's position against us).

I do agree that breaches in cyber security are acts of war, but I don't think sanctions do anything but harm us and regular Chinese people.

Attacking Chinese goods would be cutting off the nose to spite the face. Are you knowledgeable of how much American business relies on cheap Chinese commodities?

The first 2 sentences are ridiculous. The last sentence refers to something that should have been done a long time ago, some would argue... regardless if China did this or not.

No worries 0bama is on it. Also every single "Single scope background investigation" has been stolen. That's the personal information for everyone who has top-secret clearance. That's a much bigger deal than having your social stolen

Silly, you're so weird. Here you ingratiate yourself, yet your next post, you'll probably make us all hate you again, and rightfully so.

So here is what will happen because us evil lazy Feds have had our info stolen before. Usually the affected agency will be forced to fork over tax payer money to a credit monitoring service for each employee impacted by the breach. So now, if what this union (be skeptical) says is true, Uncle Sam is going to fork over a ton of cash to monitor everyones financials and what not.

Not only is this a dig at the federal government but its a dig against the US citizens who now will have their tax money used to attempt to clean up this mess.

And of course it shows how lackluster are cyber security is in the federal government. That's affirmative action for you. 90% chance the person in charge of security has a degree in vocal music with a minor in bowling.

I'm trying to figure out the value to the Chinese government of doing this. If anything, they've tipped their hand to what they can do.

The last sentence literally like something Obama would say.

Love to see his file, bet the Chinese are rofl at anything new they found on him.

Just an honest observation.

He would make a comment like that. "They've tipped their hand"

Guess what? They dont give a shat. That is what happens when your leader is a little girl. The enemies do what they want.
