Looks like the radical left party of SYRIZA has won a outright victory today. This is very important because unlike most European moderate left these guys are basically outright communist in nature. It also could send Europe back into economic problems because they could in theory withdraw from the Euro and default on their debt payments. Also it looks like the neo-Nazi, Golden Dawn, has outperformed the opinion polls and came in third. Will be interesting to follow Greece next few years.

Greece is like early 1930s Germany keep your eyes on the Golden Dawn. I would side with them over the radical left parties.

Looking more and more like SYRIZA will not need to form a coalition with other leftist parties.

Who does Greece owe debt to?

They will rule Greece soon, this is so much like Weimar Germany. Europe will go fascist like in the 1930s,it's heading that way.

But wait... if only Ukraine had been able to jump on this sinking ship, things would have been so much better for Europe and all parties involved...

In Victoria Nuland fashion the Greeks said **** the EU.

Once you and others who think like you get their way, you can kiss the relative peace and prosperity Europe has experienced since WWII goodbye.

I know you're not an advocate of war, believe me, that's not what I'm saying. I'm just saying the implications of what you're advocating for are going to go beyond mere national sovereignty.

The people of Greece,Hungary,Germany and other countries are growing tired of the EU and other BS.The extreme right wing-Fascist-Neo Nazi parties will come to power just like in the 1920s-1930s. Knocking the Socialists and Communists out of power isn't a bad thing.

Well don't sound too unenthusiastic about it. Cheer up. Things went really well the last time that happened.

Anytime the Socialists and Communists take a beating is a good thing in my book. It wouldn't be a bad think for Europe to turn right wing instead of left wing like they've been since the 1960s.

And your historical basis for determining this as fundamentally good is what, your gut?

I'm a very right wing person and that's where my opinions are based out of and so I strongly abhor Socialism and Communism. So you think Socialist-Communist governments of Europe are good?

Having fascist parties in power isn't any better than having socialists/communists in power.

This is far bigger than just a left vs right deal in Europe. This is about countries trying to regain their sovereignty and more control of their destinies. That is the reason why you've had all of these independence referendum votes in Catalonia, Florence and Scotland. As long as the EU and the central banks control these countries, all power is with the bankers and not with the people.

Greece should default on the debt.

Greece should and so should Spain and Cyprus

Greece shouldn't have been propped up so long in the first place. Basically a marginally small economy is going to have a negative effect on the rest of the world. How does that happen?

First of all, there are no communist or socialist governments in Europe. There are many with socialistic underpinnings, just like here in the US with labor laws and social security, but none that are actually communist or socialist. Perhaps Greece has decided to actually go that way now though. Anyhow, you've basically constructed a paper target for yourself. What you claim to be fighting doesn't even actually exist.

Second, I never said anything about my support of such governments and/or policies. I just look at European history over the last 70 years, compared to its past, and realize that, for the most part, it's been far more prosperous and peaceful than its preceding periods.

Lastly, the fact that you use your gut (like I figured) to establish your approach to international (and probably even domestic) politics, doesn't say much on your behalf. But, this is America, and we're all entitled to our opinions, however misinformed they may be.

Oh, thank god. I was wondering what was taking our resident promoter of pseudo-freedom so long to make his grand entrance.
