Fox news channel and it's conservative fans love to brag about how gangbusters their ratings are in comparison to the other cable news outlets so I did a little research on just actually how powerful the supposed "most powerful name in news" actually is. FNC came on the air in 1996 and since then in federal elections the democrats have garnered 7,416,556 more votes in house races than the gop but the gop have been able to improve their total number of seats in the house by.9% in that time ( probably because of gerrymandering) now on to the senate the democrats have garnered 22,912,525 more votes in senate races than the gop the democrats have had a 7% gain at the cost of the gop's 7% loss in seats (there are 2 independents that caucus with the dems) now the biggie in presidential elections the democratic candidate has received 20,267,934 more popular votes than their gop counterparts while at the same time amassing 498 more electoral votes. FNC will never mention these numbers I have given you but I can guarantee they will still refer to themselves as the "most powerful name in news" lol and smh at the same time.
Please check my math!

There is nobody on the VN political board that runs the numbers like me and I said something screw it the demographics will kill the gop and even though I changed the other day once I ran all the numbers the gop is in trouble in a presidential election years. And just to satisfy your curiosity 2010 the over 65 vote was 21% and in 2012 the over 65 vote was 16% and romney won that by 12%.

Fox's ratings are gangbusters because of their audience. You should try and find the demographics on that. I'd venture to say that most aren't the type that would rather watch keeping up with the cardashians if you know what I mean.

All this says is that the Dum electorate is either, non-english speaking, picked up off the street, under informed, or dead.

Oh look, another thread dedicated to bashing Fox News and the GOP.

Duhvol and LG are two peas in a pod. One day FNC represents a direct threat to their liberal existence, the next FNC is insignificant in the grand scheme of things.

That kind of inconsistency is why you're both routinely mocked around here (and probably at home, too).

I'd venture to guess that most of today's voters get their news from the Daily Show on Comedy Central. So we have uninformed voters and half the electorate on government benefits. And you wonder why the dems continue to get votes.

Why do republicans portray that the government benefits are the doing of the dems. If you do a little research you will see their is very little difference in the two parties other than rhetoric.

Our debt has risen approximately 12 trillion dollars since 2000.
Congress controls government money.

Which party has had control of Congress the majority of those years?

The reality is both sides are responsible which relates to uninformed voter in both parties.

I agree that both sides are out of control when it comes to spending, but that wasn't the point I was making. The Republicans typically increase military spending and reduce taxes, leading to budget deficits. The Democrats typically give benefits to voters to ensure they get the votes.

IMO they're both wrong. Military spending is too high (mainly defense contracting), tax benefits to the rich are too high, and government benefits are too high. The reason I criticize liberals the most is because their solutions are the worst possible outcome (IMO). There are at least a handful of politicians on the right that want to keep the government off my back and out of my wallet.

What tax benefits are too high for the rich?

It does when people claim we are a center right country I was not talking about elections in particular but that was the best info in my opinion to show that every time fox news or some right wing media continually claims we are center right country and the facts say otherwise and as far as being useless I can agree but almost all the threads on the volnation political board are useless unless you are really into right wing circle jerking if that's the case the volnation political board is straight porn for you.:hi:

Democrats are pretty comfortable with MSNBC, CNN, Bloomberg, etc.
Republicans are pretty much only comfortable with Fox News

That's why they get the best ratings.
