What my entire message has been about right here..

There is a government program today for everything in the black community that used to be the responsibility of the individual, such as parenting. Because of this system, many parents have abdicated what is their most important responsibility and turned it over to the government.

Uncle Sam is now raising their kids.

It used to be that you needed a father and a mother to raise a family. But in the black community, the women can survive by running the men out the home (or just choosing bad men without suffering any consequences) and instead allowing Uncle Sam to feed and house them.

blame the people taking advantage of the policies instead of the policies themselves. It's exploding from the inside

Both are to blame. However, why are the liberals continuing to subsidize what has clearly been a 50+ year disaster?

personal responsibility. These programs do not auto-enroll anyone

They have been able to breed out the idea of personal responsibility in the black community. In that sense, it has been a successful social experiment.

People that are irresponsible can't just flip a switch and turn into Ward and June Cleaver.

you think they are good policies?

no I think they're absolutely terrible but once entrenched they will never go away. This country will break into parts before that happens

however many are able to stay away from these programs so there has to be a way. People choose to get involved

so blame the black community (men and women) for grabbing onto these freebies. They are at fault for every dollar they take that is not earned through work

lots of people make the choice not to enroll even though they could be able. Why is that?

In many cases it doesn't occur to them because they have no experience with the programs. Take childhood medical issues, such as asthma, ADHD, ODD etc. We would never have thought to get our kids any sort of disability rating due to these types of issues. We look for treatment and an eventual end to these issues, not a paycheck. That is not the case with many of the families in our schools. They look at these issues as free money and healthcare, as well as a ready excuse for not achieving the same standards as everyone else. A kid with certain disability rating is several hundred bucks a month and that will grow to over a thousand when they turn 18. Free money for life.

Why is Ras allowed to take the perspective he posted (one I happen to agree with, btw) and no one calls him a racist?

Not stirring anything up. Genuinely curious.

Personal responsibility. Sorry but the fact is 99 out of 100people will always take the easy way, there is no shame in being dependent anymore.
