Climate change expert's fraud was 'crime of massive proportion,' say feds - Investigations

The EPA’s highest-paid employee and a leading expert on climate change deserves to go to prison for at least 30 months for lying to his bosses and saying he was a CIA spy working in Pakistan so he could avoid doing his real job, say federal prosecutors.

John C. Beale, who pled guilty in September to bilking the government out of nearly $1 million in salary and other benefits over a decade, will be sentenced in a Washington, D.C., federal court on Wednesday. In a newly filed sentencing memo, prosecutors said that his lies were a "crime of massive proportion" that were “offensive” to those who actually do dangerous work for the CIA.

You'd think that an agency's highest paid employee would be expected to devote his full attention to the agency. And not be allowed to run around doing other jobs.

And who comes up with a "I work for the CIA in Pakistan" excuse.

That's the general formula. I know we massively f'd this up, but it's because we didn't have enough money, we didn't have a large enough staff, and the current laws aren't authoritarian enough.

The same dullards fall for this reasoning time and time again. Like Charlie and the football.

He didn't show up for work for a six month period and was still paid. Let that sink in. The EPA has to be populated with complete idiots.

Although he was paid more than $200,000 in salary and benefits, Beale didn’t show up for work at the EPA for six months in 2008, telling officials he was working on a massive government project involving “candidate security.”

Let this sink in,.....the head clown running this country down the sh!t hole is being paid to play more rounds of golf than any previous POTUS, taking separate vacations from his family, involved in more scandals than any public official ever and continues to lie.

He also has no clue what's going on until he reads it in the newspaper.

So, this EPA dude lied and he is to appear in front of elected officials to get what's coming to him? We all know who else LIES, but nothing happens to him.

What a country!

Sadly its because of people like this guy who infest the upper echelons of our government that we have so many blunders.

What I want to know is who were the people he was telling this crap to? They should be tested to see if they are in fact not mentally retarded.
