They have lifetime appointments now and impeaching a federal judge happens about as often as Obama tells the truth.

Our foundation and even politicians understood the delegation of powers and the importance of judges that would rule bases on the law of the land....

Some laws are gray and must be interpreted...but most all law ... with a just interpretation can not be totally turned left or right....

One constitutional amendment or change to the constitution I would support whole heartedly is eliminating lifetime appointments.

With the average life expectancy back in the founding fathers day being 50-60 years it was Ok. Now, appointments should be no more than 10 years.

that's why it's important to appoint judges who follow original intent and who don't think that the US Constitution's meaning should change along with society at large

Yea
But they keep changing the meaning of the constitution....
At this point it doesn't even take 2thirds you just need 5/9 on the supreme....

All cases do not go to the supreme.... especially personal cases....

Liberty in some states is totally gone...

And Sir do you believe in the way it was started?

Our forefathers did not come up with liberty when they crossed the Atlantic...the liberty we were blessed with was bleed from hundreds of years of tyranny.

Yes. I believe the original intent of the forefathers.

I know they didn't come up with it on their way here. It was the foundation of the country along with freedom of religion.

Really all of this started in late 19th and early 20th century when large public and private universities emerged and the advent of progressivism. During that time academic elites started to gain power and decided that capitalism was evil and that's when you saw anti trust laws written and they started going after companies like Standard Oil. Then we had the Federal Reserve and the Income Tax Amendment and women's suffrage and statism emerged. Statism is inherently tyrannical and it has infiltrated all branches of our government. If the Congress didn't want to acquiesce to these nine in black then they wouldn't. Do not think the Republicans do not support these decisions too. Republicans and Democrats are two sides to the same coin.

The only chance we would have is a convention of the states but it will never happen.

Liberty is threatened by individuals who can't see past their own personal beliefs and believe they must enforce their beliefs upon others. Christians threaten liberty, because they believe others should believe as they do. Muslims threaten liberty, because they believe others should believe as they do. The greatest divider of this country was supposed to be one of our greatest freedoms, the freedom of religion. Church and state are supposed to remain separate, yet the biggest obstacle to individual liberty is most often the church. You don't have to agree with the lifestyles of others, but if they do not harm others, they should have the liberty to choose how they live. Apply your beliefs to yourself and your family. Do not apply them to everyone else. That is the biggest threat to liberty in this country.

Actually, the various religious beliefs of our Founding Fathers has long been debated. Most believe the First Amendment expresses the divide.
