(A Pelosi spokesman said she’d heard this on multiple occasions, not from Republicans themselves but from Irish immigration advocates who said that’s what GOPers had told them.)

Lol the Irish. Yeah I bet she heard from them back in 1865 as they were flooding over. She was probably on the docks promising them free healthcare, 3 squares a day, a clothing allowance, and competitive pay, and travel opportunities..

But lets play devils advocate. If someone did say if it was the Irish it would be easier why? Because their white? No..the Irish are to whites (historically) like Puerto Ricans are to hispanics.

Maybe its because it would be easier because there is hardly any illegal immigration from them?

I've never seen government officials fight SO hard to protect people who broke the law..just for some votes. Democrats would make politicians in the 1920's smile.
