| What difference does it make where the building is? It's still going to be the same. |

| Only difference is that if it moves to Venezuela, Caracas gets the numerous unpaid parking tickets. |

| I say we move the UN, then remove ourselves from the UN.

| More importantly, Annan would be out of a job and France would basically be removed from importance in world affairs.

| How do you figure? France is quite plugged in with many nations even outside of the UN's domain. |

| Considering that the US is the biggest factor on the world stage, the only reason that the US ever tries to placate France is because France has veto power in the UN. Remove that and the US does as it pleases and France either comes around to realizing that not everything in the world is there to serve the betterment of the Gauls or they erode away on the world stage.

| Bush would never let that happen. I'd imagine no US president would let that happen. |

It is barely 50 years old and it has done nothing for the greater good of humanity. The UN will most certainly not be around to see its 150th birthday, if it even makes it to its 100th.

I agree with that too. I was more or less agreeing no US President will make this move anytime soon. I don't see any real leaders in the US making this move at this time. |

Good way to take something that doesn't exist out of a statement.
Clearly Bush would be the closest President to a line of thinking to walk from the UN. Even after its peak of corruption, Bush's response was to send Bolton in there to straighten things out. Bolton cannot handle that so the status quo remains. We'll remain to rattle our sabre and threaten veto votes and still nothing is accomplished. |
