| Flag etiquette: Do's and don'ts Labor Day weekend brought out another round of pro-illegal alien rallies across the country. Having learned from previous p.r. bungles, organizers once again made sure American flags were in abundance.
It seems, however, that the amnesty activists who drape themselves in red, white, and blue remain woefully unfamiliar with basic flag do's and dont's. I offer some friendly advice (photos via YahooNews! and AZCentral.com)...
DO: Keep the flag off the ground.
DON'T: Use the flag as a lap blanket.
DON'T: Use the flag as an umbrella.
DON'T: Tie it around a toddler's head.
DON'T: Display it upside down, unless you are intending to send a distress signal--in which case, it is entirely appropriate. |

The flag stands for freedom. Therefore, you may be offended by what they do with the flag, however, they have every right to offend you. If you do not want to be surrounded by those who have little to no respect for the flag, then move to a different community.
Also, Labor Day is no patriotic holiday. The Knights of Labor, a unionist and outwardly socialist organization in NYC, began labor marches in NYC in the late 1800s. That is the root of this tradition we call labor day.

That is a pretty slippery slope, Johnny Quest. How do we determine who cares the most?
Also, I would not give 2 cents about the country that is trying to kick me out simply because I am willing to work for a lower wage than most 'entitled' Americans.

Apparently the Republicans in power ran out of issues and out of the blue decided to focus on illegal immigration. There was no mandate from the people on this. There were no large public outcries. There was a lone, rogue group called the Minutemen. So, those in Congress began drafting up bills and resolutions to see what we could do to get rid of illegal immigrants. It was only at that point that the immigrants took to the streets. While they were there, they saw just how much force they had and decided we should campaign for citizenship too.
Nothing was broken, yet, some GOP officials decided to go ahead and fix something.
