So why won't Obama release his college transcripts?

Obama's camp called Romney a felon because of his dealings with Bain. Romney released supporting documents, and the Obama camp never backed off their accusations.

So now they're calling Romney a tax dodger. Why should Romney believe that they'll back off if he releases more returns?

I don't think they are calling him a tax dodger. I think they are saying he used the tax system to his advantage and paid little or no taxes, In Reids case zero.

IMO, if Romney did go 10 years without paying any income tax and did it legal by taking every deduction and loophole available, kudos to him. We all pay the least amount we can.

The tax system is the problem, not someone using it to pay the least they can.

It could be solved in a few minutes, strike the present tax system, replace it with:

A. A 20% flat tax on all income, including capital gains. This way everyone pays. The rich would not be paying more, the lower imcome will have to pay their share.

or

B. A federal sales tax .

I agree with this. But my point is that Romney can't really gain anything by releasing more returns. He'll be grilled over it if he doesn't, and he'll be grilled over it if he does. It's a lose-lose situation.

Any sensible approach to this HUGE NEWS story is that this was pure politics on the part of Reid to help his empty suit buddy maintain his job.

Both sides have their attention whores who, from time to time have to say something outlandish to get themselves in the news and feel relevant. The Dems gave Pelosi, Reid, Dean. The GOP have Bachmann, Palin, Boehner.

the worst part of this story is that the Senate leader is making these allegations on the floor of the Senate. We are so poorly served.

I didn't realize that tidbit. That takes his comments to a whole 'nother level. What a worthless POS.

I am honestly inches away from just declaring the American Public having battered spouse syndrome. I don't think it's out of raw stupidity (at least as a large whole), I just think that we love him and know he is going to magically change at any moment.

Someone already said it before, but I'm going to restate. I find it laughable that Reid (and LG) is so morally indignant on this, when a good chunk of his cabinet and a few Dems in congress have had their fair share of outright blatant tax cheat issues. There is a huge difference to finding legal loopholes to outright not reporting/paying.
