How long until life goes on...

Regardless of your opinion on Obamacare - which has a nice thread of its own -

How long until this high praise on the left and outrage on the right goes away. This country has a long history of going ape sh!t about a law and then after a week, month, year - life goes on. We all get back to watching "So You Think You Can Juggle" and all goes quiet.

I'm thinking -

Civil Rights
Social Security
Patriot Act (largest stripping of rights ever which nobody seems to care about at all anymore)
now
Obamacare

How long until it's old news....

I say we will hear about it non stop until election day and then by Jan 1 it will be virtually out of the everyday discussion regardless of which party wins the presidency.

Agree with the concept except for your final statement. If Romney is elected it will be discussed until it is repealed.

... And Republicans will also need to keep the House (which will happen) and gain a majority in the senate (pretty iffy right now).

It would be political suicide to repeal the entire bill. There are parts of it that the left and right agree on.

an overhaul yes, full repeal no.

Life will not go on. Just like everything else over the past 100 years, once our ADD kicks in and we forget about this issue (not claiming to predict when on this one), someone will dig up controversy and conflict yet again and the entire viscous cycle will start all over. We have two very polar sides vying for their chance at full power to enact their agendas, and are in constant conflict with each other, and neither will succumb to defeat.
