Yes, Leviticus 18:22 says homosexuality is an abomination.

However, Exodus 21:7 says we can sell our daughters to slavery.

Leviticus 15:19 says you are not allowed to touch a woman when she's on her period.

Exodus 35:2 says if you work on the sabbath you should be put to death.

Leviticus 11:10 says eating shrimp is an abomination, the same as homosexuality.

Leviticus 19:27 says you cannot get the hair on your temples trimmed.

Leviticus 19:19 says you cannot plant two different crops in the same field, and that these people should be stoned.

There are hundreds of more ridiculous bible verses claiming specific everyday things to be an abomination. Why do we only focus on the one about gays? If you believe being gay is an abomination and our government should regulate that, then you should also believe that shrimp should be banned, farms should be destroyed, only certain haircuts allowed, etc. etc. etc.

People who quote Leviticus 18:22 don't really believe what the bible says, because if they did, they'd also believe all the other crap in Leviticus. They just want to hate gays.

Just giving you a heads up; the anti-gay Christians are going to retort that the Old Testament/Covenant/Law was fulfilled by Jesus and no longer applies. Then, they will cite the epistles of Saul of Tarsus (the man who spoke with ghosts) to state that marriage is between a man and a woman. Your best tactic is to dump every ridiculous claim Saul makes, specifically in his epistles to Timothy, on their laps. Then ask them why they are not requesting either a state or federal mandate prohibiting women from teaching boys.

Thanks for already doing that for me.

If they do come with that argument, then I should never hear Leviticus used as a reason. However, it has been the only verse I have ever heard quoted by gay bashers.

It also says that you can't wear clothing made of two different fabrics. Those evil sinners wearing cotton/polyester underwear should be stoned.
