| | Senior Member | Damning with faint praise "There are a lot of other people out there that some of us wish had run for president — but they didn't. I think Mitt Romney would be a fine president, and he'd be way better than the guy who's there right now."

| | Lets start some Bullmess | LOL I haven't ever seen a love hate mentality toward a politician like conservatives have toward Mitt. I am interested to see how much they will rally around him in the General Election.
I can see the Campaign signs now.
Romney.... well at least he isn't Obama

People were frustrated with the GOP but Obama wasn't Gore or Kerry. The sad thing is the GOP is still sending out terrible candidates. The party sucks. And each election it surprises me that it hasn't changed (Bush, McCain, Palin, Romney, Santorum...terrible).
That being said there are idiots on both parties. And this forum is not a representation of the general public. |

After Rubio having said he wanted someone else to run? I don't think even Romney is that dumb.
Disclaimer: Might pick Rubio due to carbon monoxide poisoning caused by being stuck in elevator on third floor visiting his cars. |

| LG, can you provide a link to that quote? I can only find it on blog/hack sites, and none of those actually reference during what interview he said it. He didn't say it during the Hannity interview, so I'm a little confused. I have a feeling that it was a response to a question, and these hacks have intentionally removed it from its context. |

| The interview was apparently with the Daily Caller. Their interview doesn't include any of the questions asked. I have no doubt that he said it, but it doesn't read as unsolicited. |

I agree it was in response to a question. The stories say he was giving an interview, so it wasn't a released statement.
Nonetheless, what it reminds us of is that the GOP is simply not very enthusiastic about Romney as their nominee. They will support him. But he just doesn't have anyone at all saying they actually like him.
GOP going to vote for Romney just because he isn't Obama, but no one voting for Romney because they actually think he's the right man for the job. |
