Islamist violence has forced NIgerian President Goodluck Jonathan to declare a state of emergency and order the closure of part of the country's borders.

Islamist violence ...

What? There must be a mistake.

According to 0bama this is all misunderstood and not a concern.’

All that’s really going on is some minor increase of “Workplace Violence” in Africa.

I cannot imagine how it is that an Israeli news source omitted the violence committed by Christian groups as well in Nigeria...

On balance, worldwide, which do you think is worse, Islamic or Christian violence? Christian violence is there, no doubt, but this isn't an equal playing field and the core beliefs at the foundation of the violence play a big part. This is true for all beliefs, and not constricted to religion.

They are both bad. I am not a "lesser of two evils" type of guy. The institutions manifested in both religions inspire violence, hatred, and bigotry.

Could you give some examples of Christian violence?

This can't be true. Christians have never done anything wrong.

Have islamists ever done anything right?

You have some link to claim Christians were ever the agressors in this conflict?

Fools using islam as a vehicle for violence nothing new

Then there is the never ending line of those who apologize for islamic violence.

Obama’s Peace Partners, the Taliban, Attack Bagram Air Base on New Year’s Eve | The Gateway Pundit

Two weeks ago the White House told us that the Taliban was not our enemy.

Iran Press TV reported that nine missiles were launched in the attack on Bagram Air Force Base in Afghanistan. There were initial reports of several casualties.

Taliban militants have claimed responsibility for the attacks, saying they have fired 9 long-range missiles on the strategic base, killing dozens of soldiers.

Afghan officials have confirmed the attacks, but ruled out any fatalities.

The latest attacks come as the Obama administration is trying to reach some kind of a cease-fire agreement with the Taliban. Press TV

Have islamists ever done anything right?
I would argue, yes, they have done a few things right. Islam was created for the same reason as most other religions, to control the masses. Over time, Islam has done that.

They have fed the poor. They have clothed the poor. They have also committed horrendous acts of tyranny and violence.

You asked for "anything". So yes, based on your question, they have at least one act of goodness or rightfulness.

Muslim terrorists give Nigerian Christians ultimatum: Leave or Die | EnerPub - Energy Publisher

The militant Islamist group Boko Haram has given Christians three days to leave northern Nigeria following attacks on churches and other targets over Christmas that left more than 40 people dead. The ultimatum, issued late on December 31, intensifies the threat to Christians in the Muslim-majority North, parts of which are under a state of emergency after the Christmas violence.

Boko Haram, which wants to impose Islamic religious law across the country, claimed responsibility for a coordinated series of bomb and gun attacks on churches and the security services in five states on Christmas Day 2011. The majority of the fatalities occurred at a Catholic church in Madalla, near the capital, Abuja; around 35 worshippers were killed as explosives were hurled at the congregation as they left the Mass.

It is the second consecutive year that Boko Haram has staged Christmas attacks; in 2010, 32 people were killed in a series of bombings in Jos on Christmas Eve.

In Tajikistan a man dressed as 'Father Frost', the Russian version of Santa, about to present presents to children, was stabbed to death by a group of about thirty while they shouted 'infidel.'

Nigeria: Fulani Jihadists Kill 21 in Latest Terror Spree Against Displaced Christians

funeral-of-17-killed-by-Fulani-terrorists-getty-1-640x480.jpg

Terrorists reportedly identified as “Fulani militia” stormed two villages in central Plateau state overnight Thursday, killing 21 people and making a mockery of government checkpoints set up after police received tips that local “bandits” were organizing an attack.

Nigerian media identified the affected areas as two villages in Heipang, Plateau, with a large population of internally displaced civilians. Plateau is part of Nigeria’s “Middle Belt” region that divides that Muslim-majority north from the Christian-majority south and has experienced years of radical jihadist attacks meant to eradicate the Christian population. The attackers are largely young men belonging to the majority-Muslim Fulani ethnic group; locals say they arrive on motorcycles or on horseback and steal locals’ homes and farmland by attacking with gunfire, machetes, and other weapons.

I realize that there are bad apples out there but to say that Christianity in general inspires violence, hatred and bigotry is simply an incorrect statement. True Christianity is actually the opposite of those three.

Ukrainians won’t fly F-16s until summer 2024 – WaPo

The first batch of Ukrainian pilots are not expected to complete training on US-made F-16 fighter jets before next summer, the Washington Post reported on Friday, citing senior government and military officials in Kiev.

According to the outlet, only six pilots are set to go through the first round of training, with two other pilots being reserved as backup candidates. Although they are all fluent in English, officials insist the pilots attend four months of English lessons in Britain, to learn specific terminology associated with the sophisticated jets.

Yes. Most certainly true when you factor in worldwide Christianity.

Non-believers have committed a million times more violence than believers in the history of the world.
