I haven't worked since Labor Day, and can't get a job at the Home ****ing Depot. It's that bad.

So I collect my $537 a week, which keeps the mortgage paid, lights on, and oil tank somewhat filled. Don't feel bad for me, but walk a ****ing mile in my shoes before you piss and moan.

Stopping unemployment benefits will not solve the problem.

Those that choose not to work will then have zero income which may qualify them for several government programs such as food stamps, housing, medicaid, families first, etc.

i don't think anyone hates people who collects unemployment. most people have been there. I think that many people get frustrated with those who milk the system, and many people do.

I agree with the bolded part 100% but not with the first part. Many people hate unemployment benefits until they are forced to draw on it themselves.

yeah. Easy to do at the drop of a hat. Getting the house set to sell and moving back to the farm is a start, before you start auditing my expenses.

this is kind of my point here. your unemployment benefits are allowing you the option of not doing anything. i'm not saying it doesn't suck, or that unemployment is some great amount of money, or that i don't feel for you. all i'm saying is that if your unemployment benefits ran out you might be forced to make the hard decisions and one of those might be moving and finding work wherever you can. my $.02.

I would go wait tables. 4-5 hours 6 times a week. I could easily make $500 a week

Yes they are... but not to the degree that the rule does not stand. If you are willing to work right now you can find work.

For instance, we are trying to move right now and need to do some home repairs on both ends. We can't find contractors in either place. Construction guys are hurting in ATL and FL I know. I know someone who is... but he is unwilling to leave GA. That is his prerogative... but the rest of us should not be paying him for it.

God bless you, sir. I hope you find something very soon. You are not a bad person. Regardless of the opinions here, jobs are hard to come by in this economy. Too many people are very quick to call the unemployed lazy, unadaptable, unchangeable, etc. There are no simple answers in many cases such as a move or industry change. I really wonder how those that are condemning and so sure of what they would do (they KNOW they could find a job somewhere) if they lost their job. Remember folks before you spout off that you have all the answers, "but by the grace of God, there go I."

Once again JTrain, good luck and keep fighting.
