My son got this from a former high school basketball teammate who was here from Germany as an exchange student. I thought it pretty interesting and insightful, particularly considering the mass influx of Muslims into Europe.

A German's View on Islam

A man, whose family was German aristocracy prior to World War II, owned a number of large industries and estates. When asked how many German people were true Nazis, the answer he gave can guide our attitude toward fanaticism.

'Very few people were true Nazis,' he said, 'but many enjoyed the return of German pride, and many more were too busy to care.

I was one of those who just thought the Nazis were a bunch of fools. So, the majority just sat back and let it all happen. Then, before we knew it, they owned us, and we had lost control, and the end of the world had come. My family lost everything. I ended up in a concentration camp and the Allies destroyed my factories.'

We are told again and again by 'experts' and 'talking heads' that Islam is the religion of peace and that the vast majority of Muslims just want to live in peace. Although this unqualified assertion may be true, it is entirely irrelevant. It is meaningless fluff, meant to make us feel better, and meant to somehow diminish the spectre of fanatics rampaging across the globe in the name of Islam.

The fact is that the fanatics rule Islam at this moment in history. It is the fanatics who march. It is the fanatics who wage any one of 50 shooting wars worldwide. It is the fanatics who systematically slaughter Christian or tribal groups throughout Africa and are gradually taking over the entire continent in an Islamic wave. It is the fanatics who bomb, behead, murder, or honour-kill. It is the fanatics who take over mosque after mosque. It is the fanatics who zealously spread the stoning and hanging of rape victims and homosexuals. It is the fanatics who teach their young to kill and to become suicide bombers.

The hard, quantifiable fact is that the peaceful majority, the 'silent majority,' is cowed and extraneous.

Communist Russia was comprised of Russians who just wanted to live in peace, yet the Russian Communists were responsible for the murder of about 40 million people. The peaceful majority were irrelevant. China's huge population was peaceful as well, but Chinese Communists managed to kill a staggering 70 million people.

The average Japanese individual prior to World War II was not a warmongering sadist. Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its way across South East Asia in an orgy of killing that included the systematic murder of 12 million Chinese civilians; most killed by sword, shovel, and bayonet.

And who can forget Rwanda , which collapsed into butchery. Could it not be said that the majority of Rwandans were 'peace loving'?

History lessons are often incredibly simple and blunt, yet for all our powers of reason, we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of points:
Peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence.
Peace-loving Muslims will become our enemy if they don't speak up, because like my friend from Germany , they will awaken one day and find that the fanatics own them, and the end of their world will have begun.
Peace-loving Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians, Rwandans, Serbs, Afghans, Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and many others have died because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too late. As for us who watch it all unfold, we must pay attention to the only group that counts--the fanatics who threaten our way of life.
Lastly, anyone who doubts that the issue is serious and just deletes this email without sending it on, is contributing to the passiveness that allows the problems to expand. So, extend yourself a bit and send this on and on and on! Let us hope that thousands, world-wide, read this and think about it, and send it on - before it's too late_

Perhaps the peaceful majority of Americans will speak up against ignorance.

Just thinking out loud here.

I agree this point could be taken and applied in situations like this almost universally but I believe the point is a good one in this particular case.

Our ignorant racists or what have you are no threat to the world at large, radical Muslims are as recent history has shown. Muslims must own this as a homegrown problem and be in the forefront in dealing with it. If dealing with it is left to outsiders there is a certain contempt born on both sides and everybody loses.

The ground zero mosque would be more widely accepted if there were more muslims openly and vehemently opposing the killing of innocent men women and children in the name of allah. Islam simply has a PR war to fight within it's own ranks and right now the extremists are winning because they are the most vocal.

Oh goody, another comparison of a person/group/religion to Nazis.

I personally think that the Ebola Virus, rainy days, flat tires, and the Alabama Crimson Tide are all a bunch of Nazis.

He isn't comparing Muslims to Nazis, he's comparing the peoples apathy to their actions and deeds that lead to the ultimate takeover which in turn lead to the brutal murder of millions. It isn't a swipe at Islam, it's a warning born from experience.

Ok.

Meanwhile, some random guy I saw on the street asked me for a nickel.

Conicidence? I think not.

You dismiss this persons views outright but will eagerly agree with the lunatic fringe of the left and their beliefs that racism is driver of fear on Obama's impact on America and that the tea party is right wing extremist group?

I do not believe that Islam is Nazi like but I do see similarities between extremist fanatical Islam and the Nazi movement of fundamental levels. Apparently this person noticed it too and IMO has done a very good job of explaining how apathy leads to destruction.

I think it was well said. Do I think all Muslims are bloodthirsty? No, of course not. And neither is that opinion expressed in the above article. But the next time we have journalists being beheaded, embassy's attacked, cartoon riots, and suicide bombs...it would be really nice for all these "moderates" we keep hearing about to come out and loudly and publicly denounce such behavior.

Until this peaceful majority starts to speak up and be heard, the piece in the OP is spot on.

Oh yeah??? When is this going to happen??

Seems to me that the peaceful majority of Americans are parroting ignorant platitudes about the religion of peace and ignoring fourteen hundred years of history and trying to ridiclue those who would try to wise them up.

When was the last time you tried to ridicule me???

Today??

Never ever forget that the Nazis and the Muslim Brotherhood were attached at the hip and the Muslim Brotherhood is quite active here in the USA with the stated goal of taking over the American government!

The Muslim Brotherhood fielded three divisions of elite SS troops for the Nazis.

About fifteen years ago a young man came by my house to visit my son. It was a fresh spring day with the temperature in the mid-fifties and I inquired why he didn't have on a wind breaker and he said it was balmy compared to the previous morning when he had boarded a plane and the temp was ten degrees. I inquired where in the world was that and he said Minsk, Russia. (he had been there training Russian troops, how many people know about that program?)

Since he had escorted my daughter to the senior prom he had been quite the world traveler, from Vietnam to Russia to all other sorts of places.

He sat around and visited for around four hours waiting for my son to show up and we discussed a lot of things.

One thing he told me that that there was a low level, under the radar war going on in Germany between muslims, mostly Turks, and the German people with as many as twenty or thirty people being killed in one night of fighting. You never hear of this in the news but I had and have no reason to doubt him.

Wouldn't the Muslim Brotherhood be covered under the umbrella of radical muslim extremist? They are already accounted for and your belief that Islam is a religion of evil murderous people is faulty. If that were the case then Christians at given times over history were every bit as evil and barbaric yet you excuse it.

You are wrong about what you say on several counts.

No, our present government is working WITH the moslem brotherhood which is now publicly called the moslem american society, btw I posted a couple of times the story of one guy who was recruited into the mb on the University of Tennessee campus.

I'm not saying what you say I'm saying, what I am saying is that islam itself teaches an evil doctrine.

I can't see why seemingly intelligent people keep regurgitating the same tired old islamic apologist lines.

I have never excused any evil done in the name of Christianity except for the Crusades which were caused by moslem agression in which millions of Europeans were slaughtered or taken as slaves and towns and cities, even the Vatican itself, were forced to pay annual tribute to islam.

As for the inquisition, it was done to root out secret moslems pretending to be Christians and during the long duration of the inquisition not as many people were put to death as were killed in the name of violent islamic jihad in 2009 alone.

Your comparison is so absurd there are hardly words to describe it. Consider the twentieth century. Close to ten million Christian civilians were put to death in the name of islam.

Document the whole two thousand years of Christianity and tell me you can add up Christian evil and barbarity that comes anywhere close to such numbers.

You can't do it!!

I do feel some sympathy for children born into moslem homes, they are moslem by default and have no choice in the matter. When they get old enough to decide they don't want to be moslem, islamic sharia law declares that it is a death penalty offense for them to repudiate islam. Even if that edict isn't carried out, then they most likely will be ostracized from their family.

One who stands for nothing will fall for anything.

Do the math, if only one per cent of one point
six billion moslems intend to perform violent
jihad, as taught in their koran, how many is
that??

Islam: Making a True Difference in the World - One Body at a Time

Does it make sense to be importing moslems into
this country by the hundreds of thousands, not
counting those who enter illegally through porus
borders????????

Does it make sense that our immigration law forbids
the us state department, which isn't a shining example
of good thinking anyway, to deny an entry visa
to a moslem even though they KNOW he has
connections to some terrorist organization??

Does it make sense that once these moslem immigrants
spend enough time in european countries to get
a passport that they don't even need to appy
for a visa to enter this country??

Does it make sense that when these people overstay their visas and just fade into the woodwork that we
don't actively try to track them down and deport them??

There are several more things that don't make sense
also.

Some day you will look back and say; 'gs knew what
he was talking about and I just had smoke blown up
my butt.'
