Obama Supports Ground Zero Mosque

There was never any doubt by any thinking person
about where Obambi's allegiance lies, speaking of lies,
that is the only thing he hasn't lied about, he plainly
stated he would stand with the muslims should the
political winds turn ugly and anyone with half a brain
knew they would turn ugly because of the plainly stated
objectives expressed by islamic leaders at least back
to 1922.

I knew that back in 1965, at least, some are just
learning that now, many are still even in denial.

Nine years later, church at Ground Zero still not rebuilt, but mad rush to build Islamic supremacist mega-mosque - Jihad Watch

St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church stood in the
shadow of the World Trade Center and was crushed
under the rubble when the towers collapsed on
September 11, 2001. Almost nine years later it has
still not been rebuilt; the rebuilding project is mired
in bureaucracy, with New York City officials being
uncooperative and throwing up roadblock after
roadblock.

The contrast is telling with the mad rush on the part
of New York City officials to build the Islamic
supremacist mega-mosque at Ground Zero, sweeping
aside calls to landmark the Burlington Coat Factory
building, into which crashed the landing gear from one
of the 9/11 planes, as a war memorial -- despite the
fact that buildings of far lesser historical significance
have been designated as landmarks in New York.

(History of that building as an important landmark
goes back to 1865.)

In the reply section 'duh_swami' expresses just my
thoughts and feelings about muhammed's pagan
moon god allah and his fanatical barbaric followers.

Huge protest of the Obamosque is planned for 9/11 2010.

On Sunday, June 6th, a multi-ethnic, multi-racial
coalition of Americans opposed to Islamic violence
and intolerance rallied at the site of the World Trade
Center in New York City.

Many travelled here from other countries to tell us
about the problems with the muslim culture of hate.

(lots of good stuff on pange two.)

Imam Rauf is a permanent trustee of New York’s
uptown Islamic Cultural Center, founded by his
Muslim Brotherhood father. Until Sept. 28, 2001,
the ICC employed Imam Sheik Muhammad Gemeaha,
an Al-Azhar University envoy to the U.S.

One week later, from the “safety” of Egypt, Gemeaha
said “only the Jews” could have perpetrated September
11. If Americans knew, “they would have done to Jews
what Hitler did.” Allah says Jews “disseminate corruption
in the land” and spread “heresy, homosexuality,
alcoholism, and drugs,” he added.

Gemeaha’s successor at ICC was no better: Omar
Saleem Abu-Namous saw no “conclusive evidence”
proving Muslims responsible.

These pronouncements represent institutional
discriminatory precepts embedded within Sharia
law. Rauf’s associates, who operated under his
trusteeship at the 96th Street mosque, uttered
them, and not surprisingly, they mirrored Rauf’s
own hateful post-9/11 comments.

In March, Rauf stated in Arabic: “I don’t believe
in interfaith dialogue.”

On May 26, Rauf gave an interview to Sa’da Abdul
Maksoud on the well-trafficked Hadiyul-Islam website:

Throughout my discussions with contemporary Muslim
theologians, it is clear an Islamic state can be
established in more than just a single form or mold.
It can be established through a kingdom or a
democracy. The important issue is to establish the
general fundamentals of Sharia that are required to
govern.

Rauf’s statements in Arabic directly contradicted his
statements to English speakers — i.e., that the U.S.
Constitution is Sharia-compliant.

Rauf has said from the beginning that the attack
on 9/11 was America's own fault.

BTW, one of the two final bidders for a company to help run the New York Port Authority is a muslim company.

The White House

Office of the Press Secretary

For Immediate Release August 11, 2010

Statement by the President on the Occasion of Ramadan

On behalf of the American people, Michelle and
I want to extend our best wishes to Muslims in
America and around the world. Ramadan Kareem.

Ramadan is a time when Muslims around the world
reflect upon the wisdom and guidance that comes
with faith, and the responsibility that human beings
have to one another, and to God. This is a time
when families gather, friends host iftars, and meals
are shared. But Ramadan is also a time of intense
devotion and reflection – a time when Muslims fast
during the day and pray during the night; when Muslims
provide support to others to advance opportunity and
prosperity for people everywhere. For all of us must
remember that the world we want to build – and the
changes that we want to make – must begin in our
own hearts, and our own communities.

These rituals remind us of the principles that we
hold in common, and Islam’s role in advancing justice,
progress, tolerance, and the dignity of all human beings.

Ramadan is a celebration of a faith known for great diversity and racial equality. And here in the United
States, Ramadan is a reminder that Islam has always
been part of America and that American Muslims have
made extraordinary contributions to our country.

And today, I want to extend my best wishes to the
1.5 billion Muslims around the world – and your families
and friends – as you welcome the beginning of Ramadan.

I look forward to hosting an Iftar dinner celebrating
Ramadan here at the White House later this week,
and wish you a blessed month.

May God’s peace be upon you.

For the life of me, I can't figure out why in the world the White House even weighed in on this? It's a no win issue for them either way.

You think he timed his announcement of his stance on the Mosque intentionally? If he did that on a weekday instead of Friday, it would have been an instant explosion. Now, there is a chance it doesn't explode.

There's no doubt they dumped this announcement in the Friday news cycle for a reason, but I still don't get why they felt the need to take a position on what is sure to be a divisive issue when his opinion really doesn't matter.

He has backed up a little now. Clarifying that he supports the legal right to build, but he says he was not and will not comment on the wisdom of building a mosque at ground zero. Interesting. He has no issue whatsoever weighing in on a CEO making "too much"' money even though there is nothing illegal about that. But here, he has no thoughts on the matter except to state their legal rights. He is what he is.

I think it's because he has a tendency to say stuff before he thinks about it. That or he just likes to start firestorms.

There are exactly two relevant questions involving this issue.

1. Can the mosque proponents afford the real estate for the proposed site?
2. Would placing a mosque there be permitted by New York City zoning ordinances?

If the answer to both is yes, end of discussion.

Well ya, if you want to be rational about it...

If a satanic cult meets both of the above criteria to build a temple to worship the lord of hell then nobody can tell them no either. Doesn't mean it isn't in extremely bad taste to do so, or that the discussion should end on the role civil liberties play in the arena of public opinion. I will agree though, anybody arguing against this on legal grounds is in for a losing battle.

I'm not comparing Islam to satan worship, I'm just trying to make a point. It is a slap in the face to the victims of 911 to have a symbol of the underlying offending ideology so close to the scene of the crime. It's also worth asking why a Muslim group would even want one there in the first place. Aside from the bad taste, they are about to pay for high dollar real estate, only to set themselves up for vandalism and ridicule. Personally, it makes me wonder what their agenda really is here.

guess he didn't have a telepromptor to read from, and his off the cuff remarks, show his true feeling's about 9-11, the victims and New York City

Depending on who those proponents are? We have a directive that certain foreign people or groups of people, with money or not, cannot build or invest on American soil.

That, plus it is a local issue and the White House should let the local government settle the dispute first.

I cant figure out why Obama weighed in on an issue already solved that he agreed with?

When people cannot distinguish between the terrorists and a religion of 1.5 billion other people such that we give up on our most important political philosophies, the terrorists have won.

That and property rights are very important for republican party.

It's possibly bad taste, but you can't prevent it.

I'd say that's pretty spot on . . . and all the more reason why it's perplexing to me that Obama weighed in. Now every Democrat running in November is going to get asked about it and have to take a position.

Of course they have the right to build it, no one should be arguing that they don't. It is such a clear cut right that we don't need a Harvard educated attorney lecturing the rest of us on that right. The legality of this is a non-issue. The Great One wants to tell us all where to set our thermostats and harp on the morality of greed in the US but on this issue he all of a sudden feels the need to clam up and only discuss their rights. Nice.

I would say that every politician in both parties will be asked about it. It has been a national story and will continue to be one. I would guess that most of them would support their right to build though.
