Apparently Favre will stay retired:

Brett Favre tells Minnesota Vikings he'll remain retired - ESPN

Of course this is Ed Werder reporting so who knows how true it actually is.

Did not see that coming

So I guess now the Vikings can go dig through the rolodex for Jeff George's number.

Let's see if he's still "retired" when training camp is over.

I find this hilarious. I'd also like to see how the team is supposed to convince Jackson and Rosenfels that they really have confidence in them for this season.
I think Brett made the right decision. He might have been able to play well for half of the season...but the Vikes need more than that in their division. Chicago and GB will be competitive.

Good. Now ESPN might actually get out of his front yard. I really don't need any more reports about what he had for lunch.

The only reason Favre didn't come back was because they would not give him the the guaranteed money he wanted. The reports are that the Vikings wanted to structure he deal a different way than he wanted.....so he said see ya.

EDIT: And i agree with SWIL

As much as I agree with SWIL and KB it is still a little different to see him gone.

The vibe at Vikings camp: Favre could come back - NFL News - FOX Sports on MSN

I guess this thing will never die until the regular season starts
