Steeler's Harrison to skip white house visit

NObama: Steelers' Harrison Says He'll Skip White House Visit - Sports News Story - WTAE Pittsburgh

Steeler's Linebacker James Harrison says "no thanks" for the second time on the White House visit for the Super Bowl champs.

"This is how I feel -- if you want to see the Pittsburgh Steelers, invite us when we don't win the Super Bowl. As far as I'm concerned, he [Obama] would've invited Arizona if they had won,"

Now, I don't know about you but I am pretty sure that is the point of the White House visit. The President invites the teams that win as a means of celebrating their accomplishments. He did the same thing in 2006 when the Steeler's won their previous Super Bowl, and while I appreciate Harrison's different way of doing things I can't help but feel he is protesting a pointless crusade.

How arrogant. Is he saying that he expects to be invited to the White House just because he plays for the Steelers? Does he recognize that there are 31 other teams in the league, or does he really just think that everything revolves around him and Pittsburgh?
Of course they are having your there because you won the Super Bowl. That's why you have the Lombardi Trophy right now too. Why don't you give that back in protest because if Arizona had won the Super Bowl...they'd have it.

what a freaking moron. I might not wanna go to the White House cause of Obama...but the reason why he is rejecting the invite is moronic at best.

This was just stupid. I mean the ESPN anchor was silent and didn't even know what to say after they played the clip.

He's not inviting you b/c you're now his favorite team Harrison; they always invite the Super Bowl winner to the white house for congratulations, as they do with any championship team. It's how it works.

You want to go later? Buy a tour ticket.

....Idiot sheesh
