Who would have thought Matt Cassel...

Would be lighting it up and the two guys he backed up in college can't even get on the field?? I hate the Patriots, but Cassel sure is making it look like it's a great QB system up there.

Well, to be fair, Palmer isn't on the field because he's injured.

Hey Eric..GO PATS!!! I like what Cassel is doing but he is no King Brady. And how about Mayo, he is having a hell of a first year.

Kinda helps prove the Peyton > Tom argument when you see a guy like MC throw for 400 yards two games in a row. But, who knows, he could be a great QB and we don't know it yet - but i'll take my chances with the first option.

no it doesnt.

Brady is hurt, not riding the bench because he can't produce.

Matt Cassell will be the next Scott Mitchell, John Kitna, etc.

Easy to look good with Wes Welker, Randy Moss, and no running game to speak of. I looked at his stats. Almost every game he is throwing 30+ balls, not to mention 51 and 43 the last 2 games. He only threw 24 earlier this year, but thats due to the whooping they put on Denver that game.

Yes it does - and I never said Brady wasn't producing. What I was saying was that another no name guy can come in and be nearly as effective as Brady with only a few starts under his belt. Brady is good (easily one of the top 2 QBs) - but his team has made him look a whole heck of a lot better and its more obvious now. You win and lose as a team.

He threw for 400 yards in back to back games. Brady hasn't even done that. As the poster above said - Welker and Moss really are nice to have as a QB.

and what big time all-pro WRs was he throwing the ball too on his way to 3 Super Bowl MVPs?

What records was he breaking? He wasn't lighting things on fire back then. They won with good offense line play, a clutch kicker, a good, smart defense, and an amazing coach.

He did what he needed to do. He wasn't playing lights out or anywhere close like he did last season.

There was no "stand-out" guy for atleast 2 of those Super Bowls I remember - so naturally it will go to the QB if his stats are decent... see Peyton's super bowl MVP.

And I'm not saying he isn't great. I said he was easily top 2 - just that this helps prove he isn't the #1 in the league. He deserved those MVPs. He was the best player on a great team.

so the fact that Peyton stunk up the joint while his Pro Bowlers were injured doesn't mean anything?

so even after saying he was back to 100%, the scoring didn't come back until his Pro Bowlers did. Interesting.
