He still needs to develop a little better throwing and I know it will be harder this season, but he found ways to win last season and based on last year there's no reason to believe that he doesn't have the potential to be a top 3 qb in the NFL in the next 3-5 years.
I viewed your profile, and I see that you're a high school student. This explains a lot to me because you seem to lack perspective. In Peyton Manning and Tom Brady you have two quarterbacks that are well on there way to being recognized as two of the greatest quarterbacks in NFL history, and they are at the absolute pinnacle of their game. Vince Young is not an accurate passer, and he has a LONG way to go to be mentioned in the same breath as Manning, Brady or Carson Palmer. I strongly doubt that he'll even be considered the top prospect from his own draft class by the end of the next 3 to 5 years.

I imagine he'd probably need to throw more TDs than INTs before he could earn such a title.

Knowing the lack of perspective and objectivity of many of the posters on this board, you may very well be correct. Hell, I'm pretty sure that I've already read some of these threads.

Well, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. If the management can get some people around him then he will be in the top 3. He may not statistically, but he will lead the Titans to many victories and hopefully many playoff appearences and that's all I am worried about. Now I will agree with you somewhat. I think by the time it's all said and done he may not be considered as the top quarterback of his draft class.

Bulger, McNabb, and Hassleback aren't going to be close. But thinking over the situation, I may have been wrong about the top 3 pick. But once again we cant really judge him until he actually gets some decent talent around him.

There seems to be a really strong disconnect between the perceptions that Titans' fans have of their team versus the perceptions of fans of other teams. For instance, this time last year the majority of posters on this board were ready to run Fisher out of town, and were discussing who should be the Titans' next head coach. I went on record as stating that he was outstanding coach and the Titans would be insane to let him go. The problem that the Titans have is that they have a SEVERE lack of talent, and that lack of talent is still FAR worse than Titans' fans seem to realize. They are not going to the playoffs. They'll be worse this year than they were last year.

Hey I finally agree with you on something. Fisher is an fantastic coach, and I king of feel bad for him for having to coach at such a terrible organization. I would say 6-10 to 8-8 is a realistic possibility.

I'll take Bulger and McNabb over Vince Young any day of the week and twice on Sunday. I'm not a huge fan of Hasselbeck, but I'd take him over Vince Young as well. I'd also take both Cutler and Leinart over Vince Young in a heartbeat.

In 8-10 years maybe, but not now.

The Titans aren't a terrible organization. They held a very competitive playoff team together for a number of years, but they didn't manage the salary cap well. As a result, they eventually had to dump all of their talent and start over. The 49er's have been going through the same process for the last several years. The 49er's are, however, doing a better job of rebuilding. Hitting the lottery on a running back selected in the middle to late rounds of the draft has that type of effect on a team's fortunes.

No. They're better now, and they'll be better later as well. You're probably a huge fan of Michael Vick as well. The ability to be an accurate passer is important in the NFL. Leinart and Cutler are more accurate passers than Vince Young.

The 49ers are going to be in trouble in a couple of years though. Nolan is a great coach, but they spent way too much money this offseason. Mike Reinfeldt has done nothing since getting here to encourage me for the next couple of seasons as a Titans fan. I know he didn't want to go out and get back in salary cap troubles, but he could have kept Henry and I thought the first couple of picks in the NFL draft were bad, but time will tell.

The Titans draft this year was atrocious.
