Ricky Williams applies for reinstatement to the NFL

NEW YORK (April 6, 2007) -- Ricky Williams, the former NFL star who played in Canada last season after being suspended for a year for substance abuse, has applied for reinstatement.

Williams' agent, Leigh Steinberg, said the running back, who will turn 30 in May, had sent a letter asking that he be allowed to return to the Miami Dolphins.

The NFL confirmed that Williams had sought reinstatement, for which he will be eligible after April 27, when he will have been suspended for a year. Dolphins spokesman Harvey Greene said the team had no comment because Williams is not yet eligible for reinstatement.

Guess he thought that with all the attention Pacman is getting that he might sneak back in under the radar....

He is a joke. I don't understand why the NFL would let him come back. They're going to suspend Pacman and other players, but allow him to come back, I hope he decides to stay in Canada.

Let him back in. He smoked hippie cabbage; it's not like he beat a woman or shot the club up. He is an idiot for throwing away millions for a bong rip, but he only hurt himself.

He's never been mentioned as an accomplice to someone getting shot. He's never bit a cop on the hand. He's never been accused of spitting on a woman.

He smoked dope. There's a big difference.

agreed. but if he gets caught again, they may as well kick him out of the nfl for good.

I hope the Dolphins send him on his way. I'm sick of hearing about him.

He's had his chances, similar to TO he gets chance after chance on the hope that this time he'll be of some benefit, then he dissappoints....again. He like TO is an attractive asset in offensive productivity, but rotten to the core with selfishness and bad character. Cut him loose, eat the $ loss, be wiser in future picks and move on.
